Well, I don't quite agree. Black people dressing up as white people in a film isn't offensive to white people because white people were never made second-class citizens after years of slavery and never had to endure the years of mocking and ridicule in the street and in the media. People only had blackface because a) They wanted to take the piss out of black people and b) they didn't want no fuckin ******s on the stage.

The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods.
