Some birth controls can cause a woman to "spot" for up to a year after starting the new pill.
So my friend is on the pill, though she's been having trouble finding one that works since she had her baby. Her hormones are way out of whack.
Anywho - she just had her period about 2 weeks ago, and now she's got a bloody, tissuey discharge and menstrual cramping. She said she did miss one pill, but that she has before and it's never made her even spot. She's concerned she had a misscarriage, so she went to the doctor.
He kind of slumped it off. He's very lazy I've noticed with problems with her, and her baby. He's the type where if he most likely thinks nothing is wrong, he won't invesitage further. So she told him about the cramps and discharge, and her concerns of it being a misscarriage. And he goes "Oh, well there is no sign of that" and that was that. He said "Maybe it's your B/C" Come back in a week and we'll do a pap?? IF you're really concerned about a misscarriage we could do a pregnancy test" And then he never even did that!
Anyways, I'd like to know, how he, without even seeing the discharge or checking to see if her cervix is open, knows it wasn't a misscarriage and why he wouldn't bother to check when it'd take 5 minutes, even just to ease her mind. Obviously only he can answer that.
However, I would like to know if other women on the pill have experienced this when using the wrong pill. I even suggested to her before she went to the doctor that maybe the hormones in her pill for whatever reason are making her continually shed her lining instead of letting it build up. But that was just a guess, I don't even know if it's possible.
So any of you ladies ever experinced this with a MC or the wrong pill?

I experienced the same symtoms as your friend when I miscarried at 14 weeks, I had an ultra sound and then had to be cleaned out.
I think she should go see a family planning clinic and never go back to that lazy Doctor.
Uh... hello... second opinion? She needs to see a different doctor.

Hah, yeah, worst part is this guys the fool that delivered her baby. He's an obgyn and pediatrition. Won't be trusting him with the life of my kids.
She went back because she's still bleeding and he finally decided to take a look and he's sending in a swab to see if she's got an infection. And if not, who knows.
I guess it could be the pill, she's hard a horrible time trying to find one that works for her since the baby.
