Good to see you are taking it as a positive. Best of luck with it all
Last week while at work I had an "episode", for lack of a better word to call it. I got a loud ringing in my left (non implanted) ear, got so dizzy I couldn't walk or stand and had to be carted off to the hospital by ambulance. When I got there I got violently sick to my stomach, never puked so hard in my life. Immediately after barfing I began to get my balance back. Unfortunately, all my hearing in my left ear was........gone.
Now granted, I didn't have a whole lot there to start with, but I was using a hearing aid in it and having no probs with work or life. So now I've seen an ear doc who specializes in Cochlear Implants, and assuming the insurance approves (no real doubts here), I'm getting another implant in October!
I'm trying to take this as a blessing in disguise, rather than a "Why Me" attitude, because the new technology in implants make my old one obsolete. Likely as not, I'll be able to hear better than I ever could with a hearing aid. The surgical part will be easier too, as the implanted portion is a lot thinner than the old one. I shouldn't have to be out of work more than a couple days so that won't be a problem.
I had to have a pretty extensive hearing evaluation today, as well as a CAT scan but no probs found so far. Looks like it'll be a done deal soon.

stuff is just stuff. your emotional health is much more important. holding raging anger in is more harmful than your faggot-assed tv that probably deserves to get its ass beat anyway.

There is always that silver lining... but damn you sure have a lot of dark clouds. I hope it goes well and you get the new implant.
Good luck with all of that. I'm sure it'll be a good thing.![]()

Like you poor bugger! I love your attitude though, that is definitely the right way to look at things. Hope the surgery goes well, keep us posted![]()
she's not that kind of a girl, booger!
Ha. Weird shit has been happening lately. I went Friday for a CAT scan for presurgery workup. Haven't gotten the results back yet but over the last week, I can't help but wonder if something else is not wrong.
Examples: I NEVER never never fuck up paperwork at work. I'm just too anal about it. But thrice in the last week, I've transposed numbers and almost made a monumental fuckup but caught it at the last minute.
Yesterday, I was driving in to work, and all of a sudden I realized that I was at my exit, and I had no recollection of having gotten there. I mean, I saw cars, etc., made lane changes, all that jazz but it's like that time was a blank. Same thing on drive home this morning, except I realized I was in an area unfamiliar to me. I had driven 5 miles PAST my exit.
WTF???

This may seem silly, but have you ever had thyroid problems? I know that it can do things like that to you. But I'm not sure if it's just women...

Goodluck Bro! I pray the surgery is successful.
Thanks for all the good wishes peeps!! The surgery went well, I had it yesterday afternoon, and came home last night. It really felt like someone beat on my head with a baseball bat but then the pain meds kicked in woooo! So far today, I haven't had to take any tho!
It'll be about 5-6 weeks until they can activate the implant tho, gotta wait for the swelling and such to subside.
Again, thanks for the thoughts and prayers. They are much appreciated!![]()
