    Yeah, apparently the blockage made it difficult for my heart to pump enough to keep the blood oxygenated, so I never fell into a deep sleep. Slept like a baby last night tho!

    I guess, had I not listened to my body and had it checked out, I likely as not would have had a heart attack and/or worse.

    Agreed. I just went grocery shopping, bought loads of healthy stuff. No more eating out most every meal, if my roomies hate the fact that the fridge is full, fuck 'em. Lots of rabbit food, as well as stuff to try and start back on the Atkins diet. I had a good bit of success with this, coupled with a daily gym routine, back in 02/03.

    I also joined a gym today, it's right down the street from my place so it's convenient. Aaaaaaand.....I saw a surgeon about getting the lap banding done while I was in the hospital. I fully intended to have it done long before now, but my constant moving was a handy excuse for me. No more.....no more excuses.

    I'm dead serious.

    I know that you've had your own experiences and you are well aware of what can happen. But I'm just giving a warning on behalf of my dad. Making the change tomorrow is too late. So, it's good that you are starting now. You also seem very in tune with your body and you know when something is up, or at least you won't be in denial. My dad had a heart attack before his really serious one that landed him in the hospital and he chalked it up to heartburn. This kind of stuff NEEDS to be taken seriously.

    I know that you don't need a lecture, but I can't help but throw my input in since it's something I've been affected by.

    Nah, it's not a lecture Aimee. I know this, and thank goodness, I AM in tune with my body and try to listen to it. Even when it's screaming for a chocolate peanut butter oatmeal no bake lol. Those days are over, I hope, and I know it's not going to be an easy task.

    The lap banding will help, especially if I'm already on track for eating healthier.

    Some tips for all who are having trouble in sleeping:
    Create a sleep schedule and do exercise early. Avoid eating late and avoid oversleep. Avoid taking naps in day timing.
