My 21st birthday is Sunday, so I plan on just being in a drunken haze until next semester starts, including holidays.
A week til Christmas!
So what's everyone doing? Any Special plans? What have you got for gifts for everyone?

going to galveston, and making tamales with my mother in law and spending time with that side of the family. Should be a blast, I can't wait for the Tamales.

stuff is just stuff. your emotional health is much more important. holding raging anger in is more harmful than your faggot-assed tv that probably deserves to get its ass beat anyway.
I am currently snowed in on campus so my family can't come get me until until Monday and then i have to write an ethnography due right on Christmas day. So I plan on sleeping through Christmas and if i cant i'm probably doing a dinner thing. Then my holiday plans consist of me sleeping in my queen size bed sleeping til Jan 4th.
As for gifts, I am buying my mam an new phone and im giving her the first scarf i have ever knitted. Its really not her style but she'll get a kick out of my domesticness. I'm getting my brother a dvd set of this show he loves.
this thread ended up a whole lot more depressing than i planned.
This is my first christmas as a married person, and my mother-in-law got all demanding about us going to visit her for christmas. I didn't really want to go there, but i decided to suck it up and make some sort of compromise. Hubby is working Christmas afternoon, so we are travelling to his home town Christmas Eve to spend the day and night with them, and driving back home christmas morning, so he can go to work, and then having christmas night with my parents. His mother is devastated that we aren't staying longer. She's still cranky that her son didn't bother to come home at all last year (although he was working then, too) So now she's trying to convince me to stay until Monday. Just because my husband has to work, doesn't mean i can't stay. Its nice and accepting of her, but i would like to spend some time with my family too. My mother has just had hip surgery and isn't allowed to walk, so her christmas sucks already without me not being there the whole time.
My own Christmas tradition is to help out at the community lunch that feeds the homeless, but i've had to give that up this year to accommodate my mother in law.
Then after Christmas i fly down to Canberra to visit my sister for a couple of days.

We go to my aunt's house every year on Christmas Eve. It's something reserved just for her family, but she always invited my dad and me since it was always just us. It's going to be strange this year. My dad won't be there and the Grandma (my aunt's mother-in-law) also passed away so she won't be there, either. I think it'll be okay, though.
I'm not sure what we're doing on Christmas. We're staying at my house, so we'll do Christmas morning here. Then my mom's and grandma's, I think. Isaac and Isabelle will be going to his grandma's house in the evening, but I'm not invited. Christmas evening might be a little rough since I'll be all alone.
So, yeah, there's another depressing Christmas. I'm just not in the Christmas spirit this year. I didn't even put up my tree. We're just using Isabelle's tiny, little Princess tree. Oh well. There's always next year.
