    Hobbies & Interests

I couldn't think of a recent thread about what stupid-boy children do in our spare time, so I thought I would start one. I also did a search, could I have been more thorough? I don't think so.

So, what do you do in your spare time? Do you have hobbies or interests? Do you salsa dance or hula hoop? Do you practice black magic, or compete in beauty pagents? If you do, I want to know.

I play team sports. I play basketball and netball* and soccer. However this year, as part of my new years resolutions, I am planning to stop netball and soccer and take up waterpolo instead. I am also going to join a mountaineering club to do rad things like bush walking, canyoning, cross country skiing etc. I also garden, because gardening is rad.

I play various musical instruments but mainly the guitar. I compose and record my own music and generally piss off the neighbours. When I'm not doing that I play football and go to the pub with mah mates. I'm also currently writing/illustrating a children's book.
The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. I've been thinking I need to get a hobby. I don't really have one... I am into "crafty" stuff, but I rarely finish a project and I'm not very good at it. A few months ago, I bought a sewing machine because I decided I wanted to learn. I haven't even taken it out of the box, yet.

I think my problem with hobbies is that I need to get organized before I feel like I have room for a hobby. But I procrastinate on the organization part, because I start to feel the anxiety coming on when I start. Could procrastination be a hobby?

That's why music is so amazing. You can chill out playing the guitar whilst doing other stuff at the same time. Hell, I play my guitar in the kitchen when I'm cooking. Kicks ass.

I don't have very many hobbies right now- I draw, and sometimes go hiking, and practice my Spanish when I can be bothered.

But I have lots of plans for when I get back from study abroad. I want to learn how to play the piano- I have absolutely no musical experience or knowledge and sheet music looks like complete gibberish, so that should be fun! Er. I love the sound of piano and it's challenging enough that I'll feel accomplished when I can finally do it. I also want to start taking simple ice skating lessons next winter, probably just for a few months until I get the hang of actually gliding and then I'll be content. And I also might take a sign language class.

    So, future hobbies! Yaay!

jackshit. i'm always so tired. i imagine that consuming copious amounts of booze has a hand in this.
i've been obsessed with games lately. uno, sharp shooters, yahtzee, pass the pigs, holdem... which works perfectly for people who like to drink beer and socialize.
and on my days off, i clean. gay.

weird tho, i was just asking my gf for suggestions on things i can do while sitting on my ass after work... i'm going to try knitting. anything else anyone can think of? that's also not too spendy..?
'Cause I'm that fool that broke the key- I'm unlockable so don't check me- I got weight on my shoulders and things on my mind- The sky is falling and I'm falling behind... No shame in my game just par for the path- I try to hone my craft because at hand's the task- But I find I'm not playing with a full deck- I'm up to my neck like Toulouse Lautrec

I had that issue for a long time... finally I invested in dedicating the space for myself earlier this year and it's really great, I love it. I can't believe I didn't do it sooner, it wasn't that much money. I finally got some floor to ceiling shelving from ikea, so much shelving- I was deliriously happy. Now I've got my little "studio" set-up, one desk for my laptop or sewing machine, and a drawing desk for other drawing/painting/gluing and all that madness. It's so nice to be able to say, "I feel like painting" and 5 minutes later, be painting. I have a table in the garage, too, and there's a sink out there, so I can do anything.

I've recently got into screenprinting. Want to make soap, too, I am kind of into essential oils/herbs and want to try doing soaps with them. I draw, paint, sew, and make random objects out of random stuff. I have a lot of craft stuff both for me and stuff for Ada to make projects with. She does a lot of stuff with me. I'm not a huge fan of sewing but sometimes I need to for something - right now I'm trying to sew pillows and screenprint them and the sewing part is looming. Hiking, but more in spring in summer. I love skating... rollerblading or rollerskating. And I have a bike that I ride sometimes, but not often enough. I also love gardening. I read a lot, or just love books. I have kind of an issue with books, I am always buying them, even though I'm generally a cheapskate about buying things I don't "need". Except books and art supplies. I have over 50 books I haven't read yet. I just always show up at the used book store for every sale like I'm collecting knowledge or something. And I go to the library a lot, too. Usually I have my nose partly into about 10 books at a time, usually nonfiction. That's nother reason I get so excited about shelves...

knitting is an awesome idea! it's supposed to be really good for your brain and also a form of meditation. also you can knit rad things like egg beanies.

my sister is really into crocheting and does lots of hats and stuff, she's really into it and is also a dreadlocked hippy.

Filling my head with internets. I trawl news websites, and various other websites, for no reason other than I love finding out about stuff. I don't really read physical books anymore, although it's a resolution to start again. I love cooking, chatting, pub quizzes, and I watch an absolute shitload of films and tv shows. Playing guitar too. As a big geek, I thoroughly enjoy breaking and fixing stuff, computers, websites, electrical devices, stuff like that. As far as physical stuff goes, it's winter time, so I'm currently hibernating. I really enjoy hanging out with my friends, and having general japes with them.

And chatting online with babes... all day.

Daydream. Do yoga DVD'S with my best friend or walk through the forest. Meditate. Get irritated that I'm bored and research stuff/try to discover new things. Side bends. Clean my room or read. I want to get more active so I might try something like rock climbing or bungee jumping this year for some non music or sex related adrenalin rush
Syco- "The Empress is the latter leg of this triad, representing the physical body and the material world. From her comes all the pleasure of the senses and the abundance of life in all its forms. She is also the mother archetype, and through her we get a first glimpse of the power of love in the Tarot." I think this is all representative of awesomly large tits, no?

Soccer mostly, but since my recent knee injury I've been depressed ... So I'm looking to start training for a triathalon, bought a road bike, and have been swimming constantly to stay off the leg for a while..

I read a lot, mostly fiction, action thrillers and that type of stuff, although I sometimes go a bit deeper and do a bio or something of the sort. I also love to travel, and am going to be doing a lot more of it this year. I used to be into audio equipment, an audiophile if you will, but that hobby got waaaaay too expensive. I still have a massive album collection though, with some real beauties....for example, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon with unopened posters and stickers! Also one of the few Iron Maiden picture discs of Peace of Mind!!

Ahh music.....I still love it, but my living situation precludes being able to put on an album and crank the living shit out of it. Using headphones and an iPod just ain't the same lol. I do have a decent system in my car tho, so it's almost an acceptable substitute.

Fine dining would also be another "hobby", I guess. Also expensive, which is another reason I work all the overtime I do lol. I also am a connoisseur and collector of colognes and body sprays. Hence my screen name.

    I think that's about it.

stuff is just stuff. your emotional health is much more important. holding raging anger in is more harmful than your faggot-assed tv that probably deserves to get its ass beat anyway.

Ive recently started painting. And by recently I mean that I started my first painting today.

Other than that I read a whole lot when I have spare time.

As far as social activities go: I don't play sports. I have no coordination. I don't even watch any sports other than UFC occasionally. But, my best friend is in school to become a pastry chef, so we bake and make goodies fairly frequently. I've become a coffee snob, and I like to go shopping at thrift stores.
