I learned how to play 'speed' cutthroat.
I learned what a fire hazard looks like
I also learned that heels are unnatural
I learned how to play 'speed' cutthroat.
"Shit happens. Character is how you react to it."
I learned what a Sexual Surrogate is. O.o
"Shit happens. Character is how you react to it."
Just learned how to play Broomball.

This weekend I learned:
-What Cornwall looks like
-How to use an egg cup and egg cup scissors
-That hot water bottles are absolutely magical for my permanently cold feet
-What the Atlantic ocean looks like from the other side
-That my prior record for 'most stars seen in the sky' was sad and that it is possible to see the Big Dipper and Orion in the same sky wtf
-That there's at least one person in England who thinks America's foreign policy has good intentions [I was more cynical and anti-America than she was]
-How to feed chickens
-What a freshly laid egg feels and tastes like
-How gigantic the horizon and sky can be
-That ivy, if old enough, turns into a tree
-That furniture older than the US doesn't actually have to look that old
-What fish pie tastes like
-What various tropical plants look like
-What different types of moss look like
-What a lamb sounds like
-What sheep's wool honestly feels like
-That even a tiny pathetic little local train station can make me feel suddenly 10x more comfortable and at home with my surroundings
-How awesome it feels to draw a map of Manhattan in the air to a foreigner
Is that enough, do you think?![]()

wow, you learnt alot Tia.
i learnt that having 4 children is a handful.
My friend's husband was out of town, so i went to spent time with her, and it was crazy. The baby screamed whenever i held him, so she had to hold him while brushing her daughters hair, and her two year old was climbing her leg. Then she proceeded to make dinner with one arm, until i said i'd do it for her. Mothers are amazing. I don't know how they do it.

Hey Tia, how long were you Cornwall for? I take it you went to the Eden Project! I've been wanting to go for years but alas, all my 'going down south' money ends up in the hands of music festival promoters! Hope you had an excellent time.
The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes... Adolf Hitler
I learned how to change a 1990 Chevy Suburban 1500 1/2t motor mount. That was a pain in the ass.
The gay community embraced me just as I was working through my own sexuality and gave me a safe place to deal with that. One night someone came to my father when I was playing at a bar called Mr. Henry's, and said, "How could you bring yur daughter to a gay club?" And he replied, "Well, she won't be going home with any of you!" --Tori Amos: Piece by Piece, Tori Amos

You funny Americans always saying what year your cars are from.

I learned that I hate my goddamn job.
Soooo.....I have a new plan. I'm going to reduce my hours at work even more and focus on school. I'm considering nursing school, but I still need to think about it.

I learned not to trade Stewie Griffin your baseball bat for his baseball because if you do he will hit you with the bat and take his ball back.

I learned that it's not as easy as one would think to plan a trip back to your hometown.
Your mind can only hold one thought at a time. Make it a positive and constructive one.

It must be part of the US market only I guess.
I’m trying to remember if Top Gear on BBC refers to model years or not…
Each car needs to have a production model year that’s it’s listed under.
This year is used to determine what interchangeable and replacement parts/upgrades fit on it, the vehicle’s resale value and to register the car with the state.
Most manufactures will redesign models each year with small upgrades, fixes or improvements.
My Nissan Z for example is still just a 350Z, but they made those from ’03 – ’09 and an ’03 is WAY different than an ’09.
Often times the only way to differentiate is with the model year.
(more jibberish for Tri)
Compared to a 2004 Nissan 350Z Enthusiast, my 2008 Nissan 350Z Enthusiast has 19 more horsepower, 14 less pound-feet of torque, ~100 less pounds of weight, 18 inch 5-spoke alloy rims instead of 17 inch 7-spoke rims, 7,500RPM redline vs a 7000RPM redline, upgraded hood design, different front grille, LED tail lights, larger bulb HID headlight fixtures, upgraded interior with leather trim, more cupholders and a repositioned power outlet.
And these are just the ones I know about.
With all those differences, the only way to officially tell the two cars apart is by the model production year.
Even an ’07 and an ’08 will look exactly the same on the outside but you wont be able to fit the air compressor belt from the ’07 on the ’08 because one pulley has 4 grooves for the drive belt, when the other has 6, etc.
It comes up so often that sometimes its more important to know just your vehicle’s make and production year than the actual model name or trim level.
