With some girls, you're far more likely to get some action with vinegar instead of honey.
Cheers for that man. I've always wondered why people always said the year and I've never heard anyone say it England.
The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes... Adolf Hitler
After reading several articles about Corey Haim's death, as well as following blogs. I learned how very cruel and selfish people can be. Gossip and summations run rampid. It is sad many are so quick to speak in the negitive. Matters such as all this negativity I find very sad,
Brew, yup it was the Eden Project! Absolutely fantastic, though the student ticket at 8 pounds was murder. I only managed to see the tropical zone because we got there two hours before closing but I of course wanted to see everything.. lol. I was in Cornwall for three days, it was awesome. I've never seen so much unblocked horizon and sky before. I've been in the middle of nowhere before, but only with trees around, y'know? One time we were on the road and I got out of the car and looked around and I was the tallest thing as far as my eyes could see. When I go back to NYC I'm going to feel suffocated.
Through trial and error, I'm pretty much totally certain that blueberries prevent hangovers.
she's not that kind of a girl, booger!
No kidding? I'll have to remember that.
I learned that your adrenaline glands that are located on top of each kidney like party hats, are not actually 'fixed' to the kidneys and not removed during a nephrectomy (resulting in lower adrenaline secretion) like some people think.
"Shit happens. Character is how you react to it."
Last weekend I learned that there used to be military outposts with mounted cannons outside San Francisco, CA that were installed to guard the Golden Gate and bay long before the bridge was built.
They were never used.

I tried to teach a 2 year old how to use a dustpan. I learnt that they just aren't ready. But it was amusing to watch him try.

i learnt (again) that boys think with their dicks and that is just the way it is. no doubt, this will not be the last time i learn this lesson.

I learned a lot of things this weekend again. Yaaaay study abroad and spring break..
-What Venice looks like [hint, hint]
-That Venice's illogical Medieval layout meshes perfectly with my horrible sense of direction to produce the result that I NEVER GOT LOST wtf..
-How to say hot chocolate in Italian
-That some tourists really can be incredibly, incredibly stupid [Oh, you were almost hit by a man with a cart after you asked him a question in English without even trying to be respectful and start with broken Italian? I have no sympathy for you] [The cannoli here are smaller than the ones in the states? FOR GOD'S SAKES DON'T SAY THAT IN THE DAMN BAKERY ahhrghh]
-That I've been in NYC too long- every time a restaurant let me use their bathroom without making me buy something first, I was stunned. People actually being nice for free? Who ever heard of such a thing?
-That I can indeed travel to a foreign country by myself and make it out in one piece- hooray validation of my self-confidence and independence!
-What various new candies taste like and what it's like to drink juice from a really weird Caprisun-like container
-How to stand up in a gondola
Things I need to look up:
-Wtf "prego" means because I heard it used in like three different types of situations.
Result: Okay see now it makes sense. It means variously "after you!," "please!," "don't mention it!," "you're welcome," and "not at all!" Fun times.
Yeah, 'prego' is like 'de nada' in Spanish and 'you're welcome'. How I enjoy Italian....
What did you think to Venice? I thought it was lovely to look at but there's absolutely nothing going on there. Only one nightclub on the whole main island! I mean...COME ON! There were also just too many people when I was there. Nothing spoils the beauty or somewhere like Venice and it's narrow, windy streets than armies of fat Americans with cameras and sun visors (or more commonly Navy hats with USS Whatever written on them) taking up ALL OF THE STREET and looking at you funny when you try and get past as they're looking into the millionth tourist shop selling masks. That said, if you get off the main island and check out the Lido or Guidecca it's a lot more 'real'...although the Lido is also home to some inrecibly rich people.
Have you been to the ghetto yet? The ghetto was sweet. It's mad how all of the houses in Venice oare like 3/4 stories yet in the Jewish ghetto, the buildings are the same height but have an extra one or two floors. Mad. Very interesting history though.

I didn't find the crowds too bad, actually. It was only crowded around the Rialto, slightly crowded but definitely manageable in San Marco and along that coast, but I wandered around/far enough that most of the places I went weren't very touristy at all. Often I'd be able to even hear the water in the canals, and nothing else. Since it's March, it's still the slow season, and it was easy to simply walk parallel to the tourist streams and do most of my traveling on side streets and avoid them altogether. I was there for four days so I felt like I could take my time and take long routes, which was an excellent idea.
Down along the Zattere, for example, there was hardly anybody, and there wasn't anyone around in the Ghetto, either. I did like it, I'm Jewish and I felt like I 'had' to go, and I had a moment of silence and looked around and smiled at the nice Jewish boys and all that.. I didn't notice that the houses had more stories! Makes sense, though. Anyway, I also went to Burano, which was fantastic. I loved Venice, it's beautiful and I felt so comfortable there. I woke up early every morning so I'd be exhausted by 8pm and not want to go clubbing, lol. Worked out well on my student budget, too. I ended the trip 20 euro ahead even though I bought a shitload of stuff and never went hungry, even had some delicious seafood pasta on my last night and delicious hot chocolate.. oh man I loved Venice.
Barcelona is next!

I learnt the other day that bird and butterflies have their sex crhomosomes backwards - females got XY and males got XX. School sure is interesting.
On that same day I learnt that if I were to reproduce with Markus there would be 50 % chance that the baby would be colourblind (red-green kinda colourblind).
But I can never think of anything that I've learnt today.
Edit add: I also learnt today that getting your nose pierced hurts hell of a lot more than needles. THAT's what I learnt today.
