What did you learn today?

I learnt about cocaine too. Apparently its use is on the rise in Australia, because ecstasy is more difficult to find. people who used to use it a couple of times a year now use it every weekend.
Despite this, I don't think i know anyone who does it. or if i do, they certainly haven't told me. I feel very sheltered

A couple days ago, I learned (from "Capitalism: A Love Story") that companies will sometimes take out life insurance policies on their employees in which the company is the beneficiary. And apparently, they can do so without the knowledge of the employee or the employee's family. I find it quite terrible, to be honest.

Also, over the last week, I've learned more about student loans than I ever thought I'd learn. Quite interesting stuff.

I was a heroin addict for 10 years, so i know lots of drug users and i only know 1 person who uses cocaine so you're not so sheltered

Today I learnt that if you tell a mechanic that he is the best man on the planet over the phone, when you drop your vehicle off to be repaired, he will be the person that you have to deal with - total shame job

I learned that if you have an aquatic tank with tons of fish, a crab and a starfish but no special food for the crab, the fish will eat all the food before it gets down to the crab.
Then the crab will eat the starfish, a little bit everyday while the starfish keeps trying to regenerate until it finally dies.

I have recently learnt that the best ways to avoid unwanted attention when out partying are wearing very little make-up, not particularly sexy clothes and having a guy in your posse. WIN!!!

I learned that it's now possible to pay my car loan to my offsite credit union over an application on my phone... and print a receipt.

I learned that those "cat training" sprays designed to keep cats off of stuff are just full of lemon juice and don't fucking work.

I learned that bringing a box of chocolates on your carry on gets you and your bag searched. I called the airlines and they told me that I could bring a box and it wouldn't be a problem. pffffft I should have gotten that persons name.

Yeah they also searched our bags cuz I had my meds... and perhaps got too friendly with the police dog.
