Thread: The number

ive gotten a bunch of numbers from random girls while not even asking for it. They have just handed it to me. its not that rare.

It depends on the situation.

If I'm at the bar, and you're pretty drunk, chances are you won't get my number unless you can prove you're honestly trying for more than a drunken booty call.

If its anywhere where booze isn't involved, then its pretty easy. 5 mins of convo and I'll know whether I'd be interested in coffee or not. So if Im interested, you'd get it.

I haven't given any guy my number. He would have to be pretty damn smooth and then some for me to feel comfortable doing that. If he wants me that bad, he can give me his number, then I can call him for coffee, which means I can decide the place and time. Personally, I just think it is safer that way.

I won't give a stranger off the street my number at all. For all I know he could be a serial killer, rapist, dope dealer, mob boss, or axe murderer. I will only go on a date or give my number out to people I really know. From either work or school, or through a mutal friend. No random people at all.

Oh I forgot to say, I have never given out my home number. Only my cell, for that exact reason. I dont think my boyfriend even got my home number until I realised how rediculous my cell phones bill was because of long distance, and that was probably 2-3 months into the relationship when I'd already been staying with him 3/4 of the time

Specific examples. This past few months:


I was eating in an pizza place, minding my own buisiness and reading Hemingway, but innocently chatting it up with the waitress who was serving me. On the bill, signed with a little heart was her cell number.

At a dinner, taking a break from a long drive about 2 hours south of my home i had stopped for some eggs and bacon. The waitress brought it to me, along with her number scrawled out on a napkin.

On Halloween night, long after the trick or treaters had gone to bed my doorbell rang. It was a girl who lived on my street. She handed me not just her number, but the number of two of her room-mates.


It happens all the time. The trick? charm, being good looking, and NOT asking for her number. Make her WANT to give it to yu.
