Thread: Go for it or will it be weird?

There's this girl in my class that I've started to like. Anyways, during the last day of class she asks me if i could send her the notes from the lecture and she gave me her msn. I've only spoken to her once the entire semester, she seemed kind of shy. I know there's nothing to read into, since I was the only one with a laptop who could send her the notes as quickly as possible.

Anyways, we started talking on msn and she seemed a lot more open and it was fun talking to her. I want to get to know her more and possibly go out on a date with her, but I don't know how to do this without it being weird. I don't know if she's seeing anyone, and I won't be seeing her at all because of the upcoming xmas break. We'll have a lecture together in january, but thats together with 500 ppl and chances are we'll be sitting separately with our own friends. So yeah, that's my situation. How do I find out if she's interested? I've thought about asking her friend (who i added on msn at the same time) if she has a boyfriend, but would it be better if I just asked her myself? If so, how do I ask?

I guess the good thing about this is if this thing goes wrong, it won't end up that badly because I'm not that close to her anyway and won't be seeing her much. But I do want to see where this goes.
