Thread: Knowing You'll Fall in Love With Someone

Josh, I do think it is possiable in the first few hours to see traits in a person that you love, therefore realizing it is possiable to fall in love with them.

Besides, when did love become a timed thing? You can't fall in love unless you've been together for four months and nineteen days...

When I first met Tim he was automatically everything I wanted, and yes he was perfect to me. I would always say in my head in the first few weeks, "I love you" because it was on the tip of my tounge, but I didn't want to scare him off.

Eventually I began to see his faults and imperfections, began to notice that he was not perfect. Did this cause him to fall from the pedestal for me? No, because when I realized that I still felt the same butterfly-in-your stomach-lovey-dovey feeling that I had felt when I thought he was perfect.

I think that you really know you love someone when you find that they have faults and you still feel the same.

But goodluck either way Josh, and don't stop coming to the site. People have the right to their own opinions, and you have been known to have a notorious fickle streak Thats not a bad thing, we're young and we all have to figure out what we want in someone, if she's not the right one you should never settle.

I think its VERY possible, but probably not THAT likely....

I had that feeling with the current bf...but the first time we talked we got into talking about relationships..we were both in one and we were having all the same problems, and we wanted all the same things from a relationship. I remember coming away from talking to him all amazed thinking "wow, I could marry that boy" and well, now Im going to. 3 weeks later, we'd left who we were with, and fallen in love with eachother.

Theres no time limit on these things, its just VERY rare to know in the first few hours that youre going to love someone. Its very possible, and likely to know you like someone in the first few hours, but I think in order to know you'll love someone, you have to talk about more than surface level things when you meet them the first time, and most people don't. You don't know what they want in life, what their goals are, what they want in a partner etc, so its kind of hard to know if you could love them or not. But it is possible.

Okay, so tell me the difference with knowing you will fall in love with someone and wanting to fall in love with someone?

Right, but if you're the kind of person who has that feeling about many girls that you meet, then what good is it, anyway?

Because you can't possibly "know" anything, we are all only human with no psychic capabilities. You can't want something to the end of time, doesn't mean you'll get it.

As my boyfriend loves to say, "Shit in one hand and want in the other, see which one you get first."

Exactly, you can't know. It is only something you want to happen.


I wonder though, what happens if you squish the want and the shit together. What if you start clapping??

Me, I got turned off by the shitting in your hand part... so I can't go through with the experiment.

Hmmm there could be a way around that. You could let someone else shit in your hand

Or shit in someone elses hand... therefore your hands remain shit free!
