How do they work out for you?

I think I have ADD, it certainly would explain a lot of things. It hasn't been diagnosed yet, but my doctor promised to look into getting me tested.

I struggle A LOT with school. With sitting quietly for 100 minutes straight. With concentrating to reading school books.

I'm in high school for adults, and an average student - my strengths are languages, especially English, and I'm only bad at maths, physics and chemistry. And I've been dreaming about the effect the medication would have on me: with no problems at concentrating, I might become a really good student. I mean, I'm not that dumb, I perform a bit over average in IQ tests - I could finally go back into the life I planned for myself when I was 12.

A lot of people tell me I haven't tried hard enough, but trust me, I have. I remember how I once really tried, and it took me over 7 hours and I still hadn't finished a hundred-page book. And it's not just reading, it's everything! Even writing this very topic is something I need to take breaks from. That's why I loved smoking, it offered such a lovely excuse to take a break. I mean, even when I'm having fun, I need to take breaks cuz I can't concentrate. And it's been like this always. No matter if I'm happy or unhappy, stressed or stress free, I still can't concentrate.
