Alright so, prom's coming up in about a month. I got my dress yesterday and I really love it. The problem is, it's plain black so I have to do quite a bit to make myself not look so plain. It's just below my knees and has bunchy material around the top. Ok.
I have no idea what color shoes to get. Black just contributes to the plain factor that I already have going on. Silver maybe? I don't know at all.
With make up, I don't want to look too made up. I'm tempted to have some professional do it but I'm afraid I'll come out looking like a little doll. Any suggestions about what colors would look good to offset the black dress some?
And hair. My hair sucks. Naturally curly and all, even though I straighten it most of the time. I want something that looks a bit different instead of having it look the way it does every day. Something really cute but not hard to manage for the night.
Any suggestions in general would be nice.

what about red? red goes with black very well. i think red shoes, red accessories with a black dress would look adorable.
i also think pink.. but i don't know how you feel about pink & black.

i really like the pink/black idea. the dress is pretty sophisticated, so i'd suggest a sophistacated look to go with.

as for your hairdo, i don't know yet. i was thinking perhaps a half up/half down updo? but i saw these cute clips, that might go with the look? bows on the shoes, bows in your hair??

I think you could pick any colour to accessorise with and make it a feature througout.
and you should use your curls. are you doing it yourself, or getting a hairdresser to do it. I had my pinned up, with various curls tumbling down. it looked great. Especially if you usually straighten it, its great to be able to embrace the curls.
