So, the other day I tried on this absolutely amazing velvet cloak, lined in silk. It was amazing. Those things feel so comfortable and warm and they look awesome. Why did they ever go out of style? What do you guys think about cloaks? Should they come back?

I have mine from ages ago. My grandmother and great aunt made it for me. It's hounds tooth wool with a black satin lining. I brought it to Florida with me even though I only have the opportunity to wear it for a few days or so a year.

I always get comments on it which makes me proud of my grandmother and great aunt. I think they would be very happy to know that it has lasted this long and impresses people still.

I think the "guys" in your live-action Vampire role-playing group will be very jealous.

Cloaks are flippin' awesome!!! I love them. I haven't had one in years though, not since my hardcore goth days.

I think mini-cloaks - the wee 1940s ones will make a come-back... but I don't know whether the long ones will ever be popular again except with the alt crowd. Shame really, cos they're warm and gorgeous!

    Bring back cloaks!

Alot of people I know have them and wear them whenever they can and love them. It also produces a really fun reaction, especially in a group, people wonder who you are to be that awesome. I have yet to get one, short on money now, but as soon as I can, I will.

I've always loved the look of cloaks. But in this heat, i don't think I could handle it.

Are we talking about like a long button down jacket or a cape?? Cloak seems to cover both of those.

I think this is all representative of awesomly large tits, no?

Cloak it up!!! I don't see any reason not to wear one. if it's comfortable and you like it then go for it. If other people can't get over you wearing a cloak, well they can fuck right off and wear some $2 t-shirt that cost them $50 because of the branding on the front.
The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes... Adolf Hitler

I have a short (about hip-length) tan velvet one with a collar, not a hood, and buttoned front. I have only worn it for costumey ocassions, like halloween... I do like it. Not sure if it's a cape or cloak or what in the incarnation I have. Anyway, I have been doing my small part in cloak resurrection.
