I'm not sure how it is in other parts of the US, or the world for that matter, but over here UGG boots seem to be all the rage for girls right now. My gf recently got some, and she went to great lengths to obtain them. Every time I'm at a place that sells them, I am always seeing girls inquiring about UGG boots, and they always get shut down by employees telling them that they're on back order till February.
When i walk down the street, probably 3 out of every 5 girls under 30 i encounter have either UGG boots or some form of an UGG knock off.
So my question is as follows:
Are UGG boots this popular where you live? And if they are, why the fuck is there such a craze over them? I mean i guess they look nice, but why do girls go above and beyond just to get a pair of these boots?
For the girls, do you own a pair of these shoes?

They have been popular for the last 2 to 3 years typical girl that wear them are white fake platinum bleached haired or trendy asian girls that are into preppy abercrombie or hollister stuff its pretty nauseating specially around college campus and upscale shopping plaza and clubs the last asian girl I dated told her I didn't want to see her in those since I spotted her twin sister in them haha

Everybody has had them here for years. I don't know why everybody goes crazy for them. Girls will pay hundreds of dollars for them. If you look on eBay you'll see almost every listing bid on.

Those boots are retarded. Years ago the furry-topped boots probably ran you about 15 bones, and only the kids that got free lunch wore them.

Ewww. Ugg boots make me want to smash faces. And even if it's freezing outside, all these orange colored bimbos are wearing a denim mini-skirt with them. Sometimes they get a little crazy and add leggings into the mix.
It took me like two and half weeks to find a suitable pair of snow boots that I would allow myself to wear outside. I couldn't find any that didn't have fur all over the top or little fuzz balls hanging everywhere. Not to mention it was a bitch to find knee-high snow boots! Wtf is with all these half leg shit. It looks retarded. And everyone knows knee highs make your ass look nice.

As far as the Ugg/skirt combo, i actually think it looks kinda hot. Or maybe it's cause the girls who usually do that combo are already hot. Who knows.

I was quite stunned to find some knock-off Uggs under the tree this Christmas. But then I was relieved to find they were only for indoor-wear, and now enjoy rocking about in them in the house. They're very comfortable and warm, but as a fashion item they're horrendous.
BAN UGGS.

I can't wear Uggs cause I can't buy into the craze. I always buy something after everyone else stops wearing it. For winter though, I have a pair of Costco boots that look just like Uggs (except I think the soles are different/cheaper). They cost $40. With effing 2'+ of snow here, I'm actually glad I have them.
Thomas's daughter has like 2 or 3 pair of Uggs.
