I am going to Warp tour in about a week, and I know it will be hot and sweaty, problem is I hate wearing shorts with my runners, and there is no way in hell I will wear sandals to that. So I am wondering if I should just suck it up and wear my runners with my shorts, or go for jeans, which will be a little on the warm side?

My boyfriend says runners with shorts doesn't look that bad, but this man also wears socks with sandals, so although is opinion means something, I don't want to take it that much into consideration without some other input.

Suck it up and wear the runners.

Not sure what this warp thing is but it doesn't sound like you have to worry about being a fashion plate if you can wear jeans.

Also you could wear Keds tennis shoes or something similar. They're basic and go with shorts just fine.

It is this huge out door concert, with tons of bands, mainly punk type music, and not too mainstream. Admittedly I am not that into punk, but almost all music is better live, and moshing is extremely fun.

It's not so much the fashion part of it, it is the principle part of it, there are some things that are just against my judgement, but I think you might be right, I might have to wear my runners with the shorts. It won't be that bad, they are skate shoes.

When I went to Warped Tour two Summers ago it was like 115 degrees out, very very hot. People were passing out. You want to make sure to wear sneakers, I wore a pair of black Vans, like Rebbie said. They held out well in the mosh pits, but were unwearable afterwards. Too muddy and stepped on. I also wore a pair of camo board shorts and a black tank top. Wear your hair up, no make-up or silly things like that. I was covered with mud, bruises and cuts from head to toe by the time the day was over.

Have fun, it's a blast, but watch out for crowd surfers, my neck was almost broken twelve times because I was trying to actually watch the band and people kept throwing other people ontop of my head. Eventually I just learned to step aside and let them fall, there are some people you just don't want to touch.... ewwww.

Trust me the make up thing is a no go, I don't wear make up that much as it is, I hate the way anything feels on my face, especially stuff that isn't suppose to be there. When I went about 6years ago I wore jeans, just because I didn't know what to expect, but I didn't get all into it, as I plan to do this year.

And Aphro do you remember if you're allowed to bring backpacks in?

I kinda have a problem going to buy a pair of 90$ shoes that will be worn for maybe a day or two, and then be ruined, based on if I am out of place. I do have walmart skate shoes though, which I live in, and have holes, so those will probably be what I wear.

We weren't allowed to bring anything in, because they want to charge you extremely high prices for water and soda and such. They say it's because they don't want weapons being brought in, which I guess is reasonable as well.

I get the charging out the ass for water and stuff, and the not wanting weapons, but I was thinking of bringing sunscreen and bugspray, because it is going to be a long and sweaty day. And depending on the weather report a light sweater. I have no idea how to bring that stuff if I can't bring a back pack.

I was just at Warped Tour yesterday in Pittsburgh, it was actually my first time there. I wore a purple tank and cargo-ish pants with alot of pockets and black converses. For one, (I don't know if anyone mentioned this because I don't feel like reading all the responses) Don't wear sandals. I'm so glad I didn't because if you do get close to any of the bands like I did, your feet WILL be stepped on. People were stepping on my feet all the time because before each band everyone pushes up to the front to get a good view, obviously. Also, i'd say don't really bring anything. Bring stuff you need that can be fitted in a pocket and get your merch later in the day after the bands that you wanted to see have already played. I'd say thats your best bet. Have fun! It was awesome. =)

Edit: Yeah, I got hit in the head by a crowd surfer yesterday and still have a bump on my head. Plus, i'm very
red in the face due to the constant sun in my face. hahaha.

wear them because if you go in the mosh at all, your shoes will get all crushed and dirty anyway.
