    Only one "True Love?"

Do you believe that there is one person out there who is perfect for you? A "soulmate" for everyone, as it were? Or do you think there's multiple 'perfect for you' people out there, and that people just settle down with the one they happen to find?

I think that there can be multiple people who could become 'true loves'. Like, in the situation, where your partner was to die very early on, i think you could easily go on and find another true love to share the rest of your life with.
I also think that some people are called to be single. Like nuns and Catholic priests. So, that perfect one, doesn't apply to them either.

There's no such thing as true love. There's only such thing as love. There's no need to romanticize love, it sucks.

I used to believe in soulmates, but that was before I fell in love again.

Isn't being single just part of the job description for priests/nuns? Being a priest/nun doesn't make you immune to love or lust or the possibility of finding a mate. I know a couple of priests and nuns who left their "job" because they fell in love.

Tia i think there are multiple compatible people out there for everyone. I'm not sure about this "soulmate" business.

'There's no need to romanticise love' hahaha!

Over 6-billion people in the world. If you think that there's only one person out there that could fall in love with then you're being silly.
The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes... Adolf Hitler

I know plenty of people who have left their ministry as well because they fell in love. I also know some priests who had an epic love but left that relationship to become a priest. If the whole one person for everyone rule applied though, that woman whose boyfriend left her for the priesthood is going to spend the rest of her life alone.
It wasn't meant to start some sort of debate. It was an example that some people choose a path that doesn't involve their one true love.

I've never really been all that romantic when it comes to this stuff. I don't believe in "true love" at all. I believe people are (or aren't) compatible. You either get along and make it work or you don't. I think just about any two people can be together, if they want to make it work and take the necessary steps.

Someone once told me that the reason I don't believe in that and the reason I hate chick flicks is because I've "never experienced love like that." Haha. So funny. I wanted to punch that asshole in the face.

I agree completely with Guetto Onion.. I dont think there's only 1 true love... you can fall in love more that one time with more than one person.. I don't 'soul mates' exsist is just a though that can sell books, movies, or shows or whatever or a way to spoof up 'Love' But I believe you can fall in love more than once. I think its awesome that some people stay in love with the same person their whole life (which I hope I do). But I think being "in love" is just that you can tolerate someone.

No, unless the universe is kind enough to put everyones soul mates within arms reach...
Syco- "The Empress is the latter leg of this triad, representing the physical body and the material world. From her comes all the pleasure of the senses and the abundance of life in all its forms. She is also the mother archetype, and through her we get a first glimpse of the power of love in the Tarot." I think this is all representative of awesomly large tits, no?

I completely agree! Also love is not as special as people may think. I love my boyfriend, I loved my last boyfriend, and the on before that, I love my friends, I love my basketball team, I love my mum, I love my lavender plants that don't die.
she's not that kind of a girl, booger!

I don't think there's only one true love. But I'm not sure. I thought I was in love with BHP when we were engaged, but now looking back it was just puppy love, not the real thing. Whereas now Markus and I have been together for almost three years and aren't even engaged yet (tho I'll def say yes when he makes the question!), and I consider him to be the love of my life. But who knows who I'll be with in ten years time?

I think there are a bunch of "the ones" out there for you. We are constantly changing and growing, so it makes sense that there is going to be lots of different perfect fits for you to fall in love with throughout your life. However I think it is more rare to find "the one for you" that is going to last through you changing and growing and their changing and growing. 'Everlasting' love seems to be a but more difficult to find and keep. But I think everlasting love just has to do with not being lazy and selfish. So maybe it- the love itself isn't that rare, its just about how you handle relationship?

On a side notw, we went to a halloween party and there was a palm reader/physic lady there for fun. Anyways she told Dustin and I that we were soulmates. According to her we have been 'together' before in past lives. Yeah our 'souls' speak to eachother and we are forever intertwined or some crap. Then we outside and had earth shattering soulmate sex in the car. Im going to say that kind of sex deff takes past lifes to master, so it all makes total sense
