Probably. That was when I was all pissed off that I couldn't morally justify eating meat. Now I fully accept that ethically, I'm in the wrong, I can't justify it, I am fundamentally a worse human being for eating meat.

But I just genuinely don't care.

What I meant was that, I see being vegan as an irrational thing. Like being scared of slanted picture frames. With the exception that, if someone is vegan for a religious reason, then it's important, or rather, it's as important as their faith is. I was comparing vegan to kosher and halal food in a sense. So, if someone believes eating cheese is a sin, you can't force them to eat it because then you're attacking their faith. But if they don't eat cheese because they're convinced it's wrong to eat anything from animals for any reason, then that's retarded.

BTW, I don't think there are any religions that enforce or encourage veganism, is there? It just seems like people do it to look all high and mighty. There's nothing ethical or even healthy about it.

Um actually I'd say most people are vegan because they see eating animal products as exploitation of animals and often don't want to participate in the inhumane treatment they receive in much of the food industry. In fact I don't really know of any other reason people would be vegan. I have run across some self-righteous vegans who feel the need to spread the word of veganism as though it were religion, but I've met plenty of cool ones too. One of my closest friends loves the taste of meat but gave it up and became vegetarian because he was so strongly opposed to the way our meat is obtained.

I know I don't agree with veganism simply because there are numerous ways to get foods and know that you aren't funding inhumane treatment of animals. I understand vegetarianism but not really veganism. I mean, we buy our eggs, milk, and a lot of our meat locally. Our milk comes from a farm that hosts days for kids to come and flavor their own milk (rootbeer milk is actually good) and meet the cows and see how it's all done.

No, not all of the food we buy is probably animal friendly. Maybe the dairy that goes into our yogurt came from abused cows but I guess that's why I'm not a vegan because I still eat it.

True, but veganism also hurts the farmers who do things the ethical way, who don't mistreat their animals and slaughter them humanely.

And I was serious about the breast feeding. Why does it seem like a joke, is the answer so obvious that it's strange that I have to ask? People do a lot of things without thinking about why they do it. They may be vegan because they're against exploiting animals, and being vegan involves not drinking milk, therefore they would not feed breastmilk to their baby because they don't want to exploit themselves... is that what's funny?

Ya know, I laugh at those words...."humane slaughter". Dead is dead. Should I talk to the beast before I shoot it? "Ya know cow, nothing personal, this is business...I'm hungry, and you're dinner."

So inhumane would be to run up with an air hammer yelling "Die Motherfucker!!!!" as I blast it between the eyes?

I think it's pretty fucked up to feed a person one thing while telling them it's another. I hope someone spits on your next meal.

If you did that to me I would be mad at you.

And i can easily see you making a page long rant if the roles were reversed and you were the vegan drinking the whole milk.

So yeah, kinda fucked up Ghetto.

Mothers who breastfeed do so with full consent. Cows don't get a choice. Also, a human feeding another human is different than a human taking the milk of another animal that was meant to feed that animal's offspring. There is a HUGE difference there. How is breasfeeding your own baby to keep it alive the same as milking ["stealing the milk from"] another animal? In essence, yes, Cerel, it is so obvious that everyone knows it but you, apparently.

One batshit crazy vegan couple doesn't mean that all, or even most, vegans think that way.

Christ, I was drunk and thought I was helping, it's not like I was doing this purposely to be mean. Apparently that means nothing. I remember making sure to ask my brother if she'd been drinking even because I didn't want us to give her milk if she'd had any alcohol, I hadn't wanted to make her more sick.

I understand that I shouldn't have done it, and have already stated that I wouldn't have had I been sober. I do feel bad about it and don't find it amusing anymore having had a new light shed on it but I'm not going to sit here and believe I'm a terrible person when I just fucked up in trying to help someone because I was a little too inebriated to realize that it was probably a really bad idea. At the time, I was just preoccupied with what would help her heartburn and decided since milk was going to be doing her good, that telling her differently wasn't a big deal. As if you all have never made stupid drunken mistakes.

have you ever heard of the India?

Like, firstly yes there is a difference between killing something as quickly and painlessly as possible and not, i don't like the word humane as i don't know of any other species that has even invented one horrible way to kill something else, but we have. but obviously you could cause an animal a substantial amount of pain and stress before you killed it. but that's the point where the FBI put you on a list because it's psychologically proven to be a symptom of being a fucking psycho.

secondly, stop being such a fucking dick dude, you're the first to get on your high horse if someone mindlessly insults something you care about, why do you feel you have to be so hypocritical and rude every time someone mentions this subject?

EDIT: haha i love the idea of mothers exploiting themselves to feed their baby. idiot
