I suggest that you travel while still a student, you can go through STA and get decent discounts on the plane tickets, but only while you are a full time student.
For a long time now I've been making a plan of the countries I want to visit, just wondering what countries you want to go to?
My plan goes a little like this, first of all I'd go all over Australia. Most Australians dont actually travel through out the country. 75% of people in fact live on the coast. My idea is to go up through New South Wales in the country type then go over to the coast when I get to Queensland up to the top end.
From there I'm thinkin I'd take on Asia, I'm thinking India, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.
If I've got any more money I'm thinking Canada, I've met people at Uni from Montreal and Ottawa, that'd be a start I suppose.
Yeah this is all in the future though, I'll need a fair bit of money for it, so I think I might just finish Uni first

I've been to canada and Fiji. I've seen some of australia. Most of qld, nsw, vic and a little of SA. Still need to get to WA (can i stay with you Gosu), Tassie and NT, but i will make it one day.
I'm planning a year travelling through europe next year, which i'm very excited about.
My bestfriend has been to lots of exciting places i wouldn't think about going to without him mentioning it, like cambodia and mongolia.
There is just so much to see. i don't think i can fit it all in.

ireland seems like my dream place.
Soo green and virile-looking.
Thanks Gosu, I'll have a look at that.
Where are you going exactly if you don't mind me asking?
The simplest way is to go here

I really want to see everywhere before I die. I have my priorities, though. Europe is definitely number one. I have this undeniable urge to just go like..now. I've never been overseas in my life and really want to go.
Then it's a toss up between Australia and New Zealand or seeing the rest of North America. Both would be great and I really can't decide.
Then I'd like to go to the orient, check that out for a bit, go to the middle east, then on to Africa.
whatever fuck...

Personally, I think Europe sucked. China sucked, Hong Kong was cool. Japan was awesome, Canada was ok (need to go back to Montreal for the strippers now), Mexico pretty much sucks unless you're scuba diving or drinking, Hawaii is cool, but too touristy now. Oh Canada's also good for skiing, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, California all good states (skiing mostly), Texas was fun, but boring cause I was stuck in the airport. The only good part of France was Marseilles, and my cousin's block party where I got toasted on some super alcoholic Grappa. England was boring, stuffy, but going to see the Women's Finals at Wimbledon was really really freaking cool.
I think I want to try Italy, maybe tour the Mediterranean, (not a cruise you get treated like cattle) private charter would do it. Also on the destination list are; the Maldives, most of Micronesia(Carolines, Marianas, Tahiti, Truk, Palau, etc.), the Galapagos Aggressor, and I'd like to go to Israel but without the explosions and possibility of death. A lot of places I'd like to go have explosions and possible deaths so I'm not including them on the list. (SE Asia, Phillipenes, etc.)

What do people consider 'Europe'?
I've seen someone on here refer to someone as 'European'. Isaku just said Europe sucked but then talked about countries within Europe.
It's a bloody continent. Different countries, cultures and laws.![]()

Yes Wizen, I did say Europe sucked...as a collective whole the countries I've visited in Europe all sucked.
However, there were redeeming qualities to minor parts of each country, which I then talked about a little more indepth.
But as a whole the entire continent sucked ass and I wouldn't want to do it again.
England was however, the best of the trip...France sucked real bad.

Thanks for clearing that up.

When I took the ACT at the end of my Junior year in high school, the reading portion had a long essay about Iceland. It talked about how lush and green it is, how nice the people are, and how laid back it is. It mentioned that the phonebook is filled with duplicate names, but that the locals all know each other, so it's not a problem. It made the place sound so good that, after the test, a friend and I both wanted to hop on a plane and move to Iceland.
Other than that, I think Cambodia and Laos, mainland China, Hong Kong, and Japan would top my list.

Indonesia comes to mind. Anywhere with the beautiful mountains, although dangerous, they'd be beyond fun to explore.

Scotland, Paris, Spain, Greece, Switzerland, Holland, Germany, In Aussie the only place left that I want to visit is Sydney, but only if it co-insides with a All-Blacks v Wallabies match.
I have no interest in visiting anywhere else at the mo.
Biggie - If you get the chance to visit down under, then you might as well visit both NZ and Aussie, cause it's only a 3 hour flight between the 2 countries.
