WOMAN CHARGED AFTER BABY BITE ATTACK

A Croatian woman has been charged with negligence after a 13-month-old toddler was bitten dozens of times by other babies at a kindergarten.

The attack occured when the woman, who has not been identified, allegedly left 14 children alone while she changed a nappy in another room.

While she was gone, one of the babies France Simic, received 30 bite wounds all over his body as the other children set upon him, police said.

Police said investigations were underway but it is not clear what prompted the babies to attack.

The incident happened in the coastal town of Lovran.

Sounds like my last family reunion!
The best part about having friends isn't in knowing that they have your back but rather in knowing that you have theirs.

Ok, that part at the end was hilarious, ruby.

Though I'm still pissed off about the first part - what the hell is wrong with people, calling a day care for babies and toddlers a "kindergarten"? I have heard people who drop their 6 week old newborns off at daycare refer to it as SCHOOL and the babysitters as the TEACHER and it never fails to make me want to vomit. Why can't they just admit what it is? A babysitting or daycare center. It isn't SCHOOL, people taking care of infants aren't their TEACHERS; it's their lives. It's their days.

If the other children were close in age to the one who was hurt, you really can't hold them to account for it. They don't even remember they did it. I know even babies can wilfully do wrong - they in fact often thrive on it - but at that age five minutes later they wouldn't know why you were punishing them. If you catch them IN the act, or instantly after - well for biting I'd give a solid smack. Or give them a bite so they see how it feels. (My daughter was a biter at that age; but she didn't do it for too long!) But of course this woman wasn't in the room, and no one can watch everything every instant. It takes all of a minute to change a diaper so I don't really see how she's criminally liable either. Just something that happened.

In Europe, many countries which have language derived from pre-germanic languages use kindergarten to refer to a child's place...

kinder= child
garten= place of enjoyment(or something similar, perhaps a germanic language studies person could define it better).

it is us anglo-saxons who have butchered the phrase to refer to the first year of schooling in our K-12 system.
"While most men are constantly trying to work as hard as they can in order to add a little more mass to their bodies, the majority of women seem to believe that they have been blessed with the most extraordinary genetics ever and that they will blow up once they touch a weight."

I understand where "Kindergarten" came from. (Heh; I've been very involved in studying education as well as homeschooling for well over a decade, I better know!) From the perverse teaching that children left to themselves and their own devices will just bloom...into creatures of the state for the most part. The Prussian model is the sickest shit ever to be foisted upon the masses; but we sure use it in the US. Ick. http://www.preservenet.com/theory/Gatto.html (Should be something on it there. If not there's plenty that is good.)

If "Kindergarten" were what it's meant to be, she could easily have left the wonderful little flowers alone for a minute and they'd never have harmed one another. Of course they do, but that only goes to show that the idea is absurd.

Still the reality in the US is that people conflate "school" and "daycare" rather than just acknowledge the reality.
