Thread: Double Standards

i was really shocked to read Zuggie's post to see that such an attitude stiill existed. Of course, i don't know how many people he's been with. Maybe he hasn't been with anyone, and was just shocked to see so many other people were getting it.

I think they do. And women hold them just as much too. It's almost expected or at the very least accepted when a guy has a high number - but women are still very judgemental of other wome who 'whore' around.

But I think its an age thing. Younger people are more likely to judge and be judged based on numbers. For me it all has to do with span of time the numbers were built up - not the actual number. If someone sleeps with 20 people in one year - ick. 20 people in 10 years? Thats 2 people a year - who cares.

I know a lot of my friends are very judgemental of eachother in regards to numbers - and the guys still get away with man whoring. Just one of those things. Men want women who are sexual and open - but they still want them to be pure and some how at the same time, inexperienced.

I cant speak for the guys, but I do judge men based on how many girls they've slept with.

If I know a guy is a total whore, its a major turn off. But if a guy has only slept with a few or no girls, then I dont really pass judgement.

If I had to guess though, Rubes, and any guys correct me if Im wrong, I think a major deal with dudes and why they dont prefer sluts, is because they dont want a girl that any ol' shmo can pick up. they want one thats hard for the rest of the world to get, but THEY can get her. Sort of like a trophey.

Anyways, what number is coinsidered a whore? I think 8. If a guy told me he slept with 7 girls, probably wouldnt bother me. But if he told me 8... i dont know, 8 just seems remarkably too high for my tastes.

The fact of the matter is that women LOVE experienced guys not because these guys are whores but because of what it means to be a guy who's slept with a lot of women. He's attractive, charming, has a lot going for him. These are the kinds of guys who sleep with lots of women and I've yet to meet a woman turned off by the fact that a guy is in high demand. Such girls DO NOT EXIST although girls are occasionally turned off by a guy sleeping with women who are too "ugly" or "slutty" or "desperate" or any other term women use derisively towards other women.

As for guys' views of women, I think it changes as you get older. A lot of guys start out idealistic when they're young and only want the purest girl on the block but as you get older and sleep with more girls and have real relationships, you get over a lot of those hang ups and realize that the girls who are the most fun are the ones who've had a one night stand or two (or three), have had a couple serious relationships and don't have weird hang-ups about sex either way (slutty or prudish) At that point, most guys aren't even interested in specific numbers and are more interested in how the girl behaves herself in public and private.

I judge based on numbers but that's because I'm 19 and I date people usually a year or two within my age and I can't imagine why numbers would be high at all in this point of my life. If a guy has fucked over 10 chicks, it's pretty much a given that not all of those were meaningful (if any) relationships, and I'd be a little worried about STD's. Which I think girls are more likely to know if they have STD's or not anyway because they find that shit out when they go to the gyno. My boyfriend has only had sex with 3 other girls before me, but he wasn't dating any of them, which I would prefer if those 3 had been from past relationships but I don't judge him or think less of him. There's no point looking back in a part of his life I wasn't involved with if it's not affecting me.

that describes my ex, except for the part i bolded, LAWL! but he was a total manwhore for some time before i met him- and he was AWESOME in bed. AWESOME at giving head. didn&#39;t always get me off because the female orgasm is a tricky beast, but relatively speaking (yes, speaking as a whore who&#39;s slept with around 10 dudes :P ) he was a demon in the sack.

i think the double standard stems from a guy (generally speaking) has to convince a woman (not a specific woman, but a woman in general) to have sex with him either through a geniune relationship, manipulation, seduction, being a rock star, or what have you.

whereas for a woman to have sex...she has to say yes. (not with a specific man, but with any man...if you get my thinking)

personally, i don&#39;t give a flying fuck what her number is, and she shouldn&#39;t give a fuck what mine is, as long as we&#39;re healthy and like eachother.
