    That chimp-attack woman on Oprah

First off, let me just say shame on Oprah Winfrew for exploiting someone like this. It's not the first time, it won't be the last time but it's still disgusting.

Second, what sort of fucking stupid person keep a chimpanzee as a pet? They're twice as strong as people, can be extremely violent creatures and are far too intelligent to take the bullshit most animals put up with. I'm not saying I don't feel soprry for the woman whose face got ripped off but it just goes to show that you can't just assume ownership and command of an animal like that.
The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes... Adolf Hitler

She didn't own the animal, her friend did. And her friend called her to come over because she couldn't get the animal under control and when she came over it attacked her.

So yes I feel sorry that it happened to her and not the owner. The owner should have called animal control, better yet, shouldn't have owned it.

Yeah I know it was her mate's, but what the fuck are you doing with a chimpanzee??? I don't know if the chimp involved in this incident was male or female, but male chimps can be extremely aggressive and the big ones are something like five-times as strong as people. When I was in Uganda, I got told some crazy stories about Chimpanzees beating up fisherman and stuff because they wanted their can of Sprite.

The whole incident lookes like one massive idiot-clusterfuck. If you're having trouble controlling your pissed-off chimpanzee, don't fucking call your 130lb skinny blone girlfriend to help get it under control and if you are said skinny blond chick, you don't go over and try and accost an animal that would kill you without blinking. The owner originally said that she'd given the chimp Xanax because he was getting 'rowdy'. Of course, Xanax is used to calm people down but sometimes it can also have the opposite effect.... She now denies she gave the chimp Xanax.

Having 'pets' which can kill you if the desire takes them is not a good idea. I know chimps (like this one) are used in performances and stuff but you can never forget what they are.

    AHHH!! that picture is hilarious.

but yeah i did a bunch of research on having primates as pets a few years ago, and ALL SIGNS POINT TO "BAD IDEA."

they're great when they're babies, but then they grow up, go thru puberty, and get crazy. bad news.
'Cause I'm that fool that broke the key- I'm unlockable so don't check me- I got weight on my shoulders and things on my mind- The sky is falling and I'm falling behind... No shame in my game just par for the path- I try to hone my craft because at hand's the task- But I find I'm not playing with a full deck- I'm up to my neck like Toulouse Lautrec
