    Horrible crime - Thoughts?

We were talking about that 5 year old girl that was sold for sex by her mother and ended up being murdered (link). I'm not totally sure how she died. I've heard mixed things. I heard that it was due to the rape, but that article said that it was asphyxiation. Either way, I guess it's still related to the rape.

As horrible as it is to lose a child in that way, I'm not sure I would want my child to survive it. What a terrible thing to have to go through and then try to move on from. I don't know. I guess I don't know how I'd feel unless I was actually in that situation.

How do you think you'd feel about that?

It depends what environment they end up in. If she was to survive and go back to her mother there's no chance she'll recover..if she was able to be provided with loving parenting it will hurt and it will be a long road but often people who have come from terrifying experiences are the ones who can help others through it in the future...I certainly wouldn't want my child to die unless they were horrifyingly disfigured and can gain no quality of life under any circumstances.
Syco- "The Empress is the latter leg of this triad, representing the physical body and the material world. From her comes all the pleasure of the senses and the abundance of life in all its forms. She is also the mother archetype, and through her we get a first glimpse of the power of love in the Tarot." I think this is all representative of awesomly large tits, no?

That is a horrible thing. I haven't heard of the case.
There are probably people who have survived such things. Its hard to know whether life is worth living after such a thing. I think some people could end up on such a destructive path after having endured such things. But some people do come out the other side.

We had a case in our town where a mother gave her daughter to her boyfriend so he could take her virginity. The boyfriend blackmailed the mother saying he would post the photos of her performing bestiality on the internet if she didn't let him have sex with her daughter. The whole thing was found out when the girl ran away from this boyfriend and someone found her. I wonder how long it would have gone on if she hadn't managed to get away. That was several years ago, and the mother just recently went to court for it. The girl is now a young woman, and just from interviews with the press and stuff, she seems to be on a path of healing. Obviously her relatonship with her mother has been destroyed forever, but she seemed quite grounded. I hope that she's as stable as she appears, but there would be alot of hurt underneath it all.

I get so upset when i see these horrible things that people do to innocent children

I don't know. Kids are so incredibly resilient. Where I'm currently working we have several kids coming from some pretty shady situations and some of their stories absolutely break my heart - but they're in happy, stable and loving homes now and they're thriving. They are such sweet and bright kids. That's not to say some of them won't always be facing some sort of demon, or have issues for the rest of their lives - but the measurable differences in them since they came to us, or have been placed in better homes is amazing. They've grown leaps and bounds...not only developmentally, but personality wise too.

That's the best part and the biggest down fall of kids - they're so trusting and forgiving, especially at a young age like that.

I think if a child survived that sort of situation - they could come out on top. As long as they had someone who loved them and was willing to take all the necessary steps to do everything they could to make sure they were given the best chance at recovering from the trauma.

I'm confused; you feel bad for the mother, who sold the child into prostitution? Or did I misinterpret your post...

No.... The girl has a father, too. Obviously, I don't feel bad for the mother.

Hahahaha!!! That is HILARIOUS coming from you. I'm fairly certain you are the least intelligent person on this planet. I'm sure I wrote some words that are a little too big for you, so please let me know if you have questions.

No, I'm not. I was curious, because when we were talking at work, all the people that had kids felt the same way as me and the ones without kids felt the opposite. I was wondering if people would feel the same on the board.
