He was just testing the system!! Go easy on him. Though why not auction his kidney if he was just testing it?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>SOURCEBERLIN (Reuters) - A German woman and a male friend face prosecution for human trafficking after they put the woman's daughter up for auction on the Internet at a starting price of one euro ($1.18), authorities said on Wednesday.

A photograph of the 8-year-old child was posted by the man, from the Bavarian town of Traunstein, who later told police he had placed the offer to test the online auction system.
The senior state prosecutor investigating the case said both the man, 35, and mother, 41, faced charges of attempted child trafficking.
"Three people made offers for the child and the bidding price reached 25.50 euros before the item was removed after between three to four hours by the company's security," he said.
Like other countries in western Europe, Germany has seen a surge in human trafficking in recent years as well as a number of high-profile child pornography cases often connected with the Internet[/b]
How sick is that? Putting your child on auction? Some people just shouldn't have kids.

Statistics are like prisoners, torture them long enough and they'll tell you whatever you want to hear.

He said that he was just testing the system. Why would you test it with your child? It is wrong.

I'm going to put myself on eBay one of these days, who wants to bid?
Hmmm, wonder what I would get for 3 kids, all toilet trained, well mannered and can do light house chores.I'm kidding, not.

Some people are so sick. I wonder how the kid feels now,
"yah my mom put me on an internet auction"
And then people actually bidded? This world is MESSED UP.
sick. sick. sick.
Why start the bidding so low?
Sunny days wouldn't be special if it wasn't for rain, Joy wouldn't feel so good if it wasn't for pain

eBay charges you according to the starting price and ending price along with any features you choose. So starting it at 1 euro costs him the least.

Hell my daughter still thinks I paid 13 dollars for her at a flea market. I threaten to trade her in for a better model all the time. She, of course, is not an idiot and knows I am just being foolish.
Am i the only one who finds this funny?
Although a lot of things have been funny to me lately...![]()

I love the linking in of paedophilia here. More proof of the media demonisation, but anyway. That aside, the guy said he was testing the system. Innocent until proven guilty, surely? Would he have actually passed on the woman's daughter for $20? It's not likely, really. If you're gunna sell a child, you know you can expect quite a substantial amount more, especially if you're offering it to a worldwide community. Admittedly, if you try and sell one in a 3rd world country or a trailer park, you might only make a buck or two, but still, big picture![]()
Not when it comes to paedophilia, which in my opinion is disgusting.Originally posted by Trionix@Apr 25 2004, 09:52 PM

False accusations are made, but because people want to believe that the person accused is guilty until proven otherwise - it can ruin a life, ven if they are innocent.
Unless of course it's michael jackson - in which case he is not only innocent until proven guilty, even if guilty he is considered innocent.
But I digress.
I find this story to be hilarious, and I think that it could very well have been a test, or a joke - not a very tasteful joke admittedly, but the best jokes aren't
