I'm debating the ever-loving God, that's in Christainity stumbled upon this site who recorded all of the violence of God, and in the Bible thought I'd share the site with you it is a record of 678 references to violence in the Bible.

The four angels were loosed to slay the third part of men.--Rev.9:15
    Genesis

God likes Abel&#39;s dead animals better than Cain&#39;s fruits and vegetables. Why? Well, no reason is given, but it probably has something to do with the amount of pain, blood, and gore involved. 4:3-5

Because God liked Abel&#39;s animal sacrifice more than Cain&#39;s vegetables, Cain kills his brother Abel in a fit of religious jealousy. 4:8

God is angry. He decides to destroy all humans, beasts, creeping things, fowls, and "all flesh wherein there is breath of life." He plans to drown them all. 6:7, 17

God repeats his intention to kill "every living substance ... from off the face of the earth." But why does God kill all the innocent animals? What had they done to deserve his wrath? It seems God never gets his fill of tormenting animals. 7:4[/b]

McBane to his bands black front man: Hey schowie I like your new jacket, it makes you look like a homersexual.
    The audience boos him.

People really miscontrue this whole "ever loving God thing." God is love but he is also just. If you read the OT you see that when he is dealing with the Israelites he is merciless to their enemies, at the same time though you see that he turns aside his anger towards them.
In exodus and numbers there are a handful of times where they just grimbled one to many times and God was ready to destroy them. Moses and Aaron pleaded before God for them and God turned aside his anger.
He has not changed. He is the same God. We are in a period of grace. God showed his great love for us by sending Jesus to die for us. We are now in a waiting period while the word is spread. If however you read the whole NT you will come to Revelation. Revelation is not a pretty picture and it is going to happen. If you compare the two books, the OT and the NT you will see that he is actually the same God.

By the way have you ever even read Genesis? Or are you pulling this shit off of a website?

here is a better look at that verse

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
    Cain and Abel

1 Adam [1] lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. [2] She said, "With the help of the LORD I have brought forth [3] a man." 2 Later she gave birth to his brother Abel.
Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. 3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD . 4 But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."
8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let&#39;s go out to the field." [4] And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.[/b]
God didn&#39;t want fruit and vegies. Cain knew that going into it and decided against using his own animals. He used fruit instead. God did not ask for fruit so he did not accept it. Cain was then jealous that Abel had done the right thing and found God&#39;s favor, and he killed his brother for his own mistake.

I am not even going to grace the animal thing with a reply, read the bible and you will see what the animals were put here for.

Additionally, almost all of those quotes are in the Old Testament, when people were smited for being bad...

I believe that when Jesus died, God&#39;s wrath was lost.

I wouldn&#39;t say God&#39;s wrath was lost. God the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. If you wanted to put it into words you could say God&#39;s wrath has been put on hold. The events in revelation are coming.

Just out of interest, do you believe that the whole of creation is based around us? More so than any other creature?
( This question has nothing to do with eating animals or anything, it just sounds as though you think everything on earth was put here for our convienience)

Yes. Its all true, the lack of any actual evidence rules out any other possibility.

Look Billy, if you want to learn about God, the bible isnt the place to be looking. More on this when I have time.
"There is a significant similarity between fighting and funerals.
Just as the slaughter of many people should be accompanied by weeping and mourning,
So the positions in a victory parade should properly parallel those in a funeral procession."

Wait, I&#39;m fairly lost the Bible will not teach me about God? Are you telling me you&#39;ll teach me about a God of a different religion or some shape form of a Christian God, I hate being feeble minded.

    Run Billy, it&#39;s a trap!

Where else are you suppose to learn about &#39;God&#39; other than from religious scriptures? I mean, it&#39;s not like you can see and talk to God.

DK is right. Fuck animals. They&#39;re here for us to exploit. You think the slaughtering of tons of animals is wrong! You&#39;re wrong. Every animal you slaughter brings a smile to God&#39;s face, because he gave us these animals to devour them. Those vegans are pissing God off big time...they take a moral stance, but I eat 2 steaks for every vegan out there.

Nah man, I&#39;m taking your side. I just don&#39;t understand why people think God should be a pussy. Why can&#39;t he crack skulls if people disobey him? I mean, supposing you created humans and they started doing shit you specifically told them not to do...wouldn&#39;t you want to kill them? And that&#39;s all God was doing! What the hell is wrong with that!? He made us, he has the right to do as he wishes...where the hell do people get off saying what&#39;s right or wrong!? He decides what&#39;s right or wrong...humans need to know their place...know their role so to speak. But God gets the last laugh....eternal damnation.

Do you honestly believe that you can hear everything God&#39;s telling you in this crazy world around us and in our own heads without getting really confused and possibly misconstruing what he says or where the messages in your head are coming from? I personally have a hard time figuring out who I borrowed a book from, much less trying to figure out the hard moral decisions without any guidance. God speaks to you in different ways. As a Christian, I believe the Bible is the word of God. I wouldn&#39;t ignore it when trying to figure out what he wants to do any more than I woud ignore a message left on an answering machine.

We are the most important part of God&#39;s creation. We&#39;re what he cares about most. However, just like when a parent gives their kids a car, he wants them to take care of what he gives them. He understands when they run down a set of tires because it was neccessary but he doesn&#39;t want them to burn rubber.
I&#39;d was going to create a very strongly constructed argument against your position; but then I got high.
