Are Christians ruining America or is it the other way around? A huge number of them voted for Bush...for those living under a rock. You seem to have a moral divide. Conservative Christians vs. Fairy Liberals. Although I'm not a fan of Conservative values I do find the fairy Liberals quite annoying.
On Late Night with McBane:
McBane to his bands black front man: Hey schowie I like your new jacket, it makes you look like a homersexual.
The audience boos him.
Mcbane: Ahh, maybe you are all homersexuals.

Yes. Why is that even a question. Christians ruin anything they can get their grubby hands on. It's way too late and I'm too tired to go on a diatribe about all that's wrong with Christian culture, but I think anyone with half a brain realizes that the world would be better off if Hitler had gassed the Christians instead...

It's like two people debating what colour Santa's coat is. One says it's Green, the other says it's Blue. You're sure it's Red, but it doesn't matter anyway because he doesn't exist.

Digity,
are you asking about ruining America starting with Bush or before that?

This is a rather illogical agruement. You are attempting to make generalization about Christians as a whole. Would you consider it fair if I called a black men drug dealers? How about all Indians own hotels?

I'm with spike.

I don't dislike christians on an individual level,(although I will try and avoid them where ever possible) unless they give me some reason to, but as a religion I hate it. The religion is obsessed with control and power, and is insistant that everyone must live how they believe is the right way.

I'd say that when the populous makes their decisions based on what the unprovable little voices in their heads tell them rather than on what's plainly visible in front of them, it's time to leave.

'The voices tell me little babies shouldn't die. Sorry, no, wait, little American babies shouldn't die.'

Fuck that.

It's hard to tell who is controlling whom. Maybe the Christians are being cynically exploited in exchange for voting for truly un-Christian ideas. I mean, if you look at it, America is one of the least Christian countries in the world. We have guns and violence everywhere, a healthcare system that leaves plenty of people out to dry, a breakdown in community thanks to the government allowing corporations to have their way with us... all of these things that make it so much harder to live here, that leave Americans feeling disconnected and isolated and driven to do nothing but earn money (the most un-Christian thing I can think of), and for what? Abortion is still legal. If I'm Bush, I don't know if I want abortion to be illegal. If abortion is off the table, then maybe the Christians would actually vote for real Christian values.

Well, if black men and Indians had as violent and disgusting a history as Christians did, I would say that it'd be a very fair generalization.

You can't blame all Christians. True there are alot of Christians I know who voted for Bush (of course I'm in Texas so I know ALOT of people who voted for Bush). I also know that I disagree with the Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, and the Green Party (sorry, the name for the member slipped my mind). I'm probably closest to the libertarians but I don't agree with the martial law part... ok, so i went off topic. My point was stop assuming that all Christians get some political newsletter once a month telling thm what to think and who to vote for.
I'd was going to create a very strongly constructed argument against your position; but then I got high.

No, it's not all christians, but it is the leaders of the christian church. The people in charge.
It's what they do that effects the world, and the country (despite the so-called seperation of church and state), and it is them that affect other peoples opinions of your religion, and the people who practice it.

So because Great Britian has such a violent past they are all ruining their country?

How about Germans, look at what those fuckers did during WWII. Does that make all germans genocidic maniacs?

How about the roman empire, look at the carnage they stirred up. Does that make all italians blood thirsty killers?

China? Japan? Should I go on?

Perhaps instead of looking at a group of people you should look at man in general. Man is warlike in nature.

Germany hasn't been committing atrocities for the last 1700 years. Germany didn't even exist 1700 years ago. You cannot name a body of people that have murdered as many as a whole as Christians have. Tell ya what, we'll have this argument when I get off work tonight, cuz I don't have time to sit down and talk about it now.

Dude, the Soviet Union killed a lot more than Christians ever have. The Nazis killed a lot, too, as did Pol Pot in Cambodia, not to mention the Chinese. What's the unifying thread among these 4? Atheism.

My friend who isd a christian liked aloty of things about kerry, but what made him change his mind was that Kerry was for abortion, didn't really care to help iraq and he didn't like that Kerry was for gay rights. That is why alot of the christians voted for Bush. Even though bush wasn't near perfect either, they figured since he stopped gay marriage, he had been one of the better cantidates.
Life is funny, you can walk down a road several times and never really see it. I guess life has to repeat itself alot so that it finally gets its message across.

Blame religion if you want, I'd totally support that. But I think it's stupid to blame just "Christians." People say "Christianity" like it's the only religion that anyone practices and does anything in the name of.
