    And god bless.
Interesting you should say that because I'm very far indeed from being a skeptic. I'm just not particularly gullable. I may not follow any particular religion and I may know FOR A FACT that psychics are bullshit and that you are being conned but I don't see how that makes me a skeptic. Perhaps the more you learn about the world, the more 'skeptical' you become in the eyes of others because they still think that someone telling you something you want to hear or reading your bodylanguage is endowed with mystical powers or that you got fired from work because you walked under a ladder. Just for the record - there is also no such thing as bad luck/good luck charms or whatever.

But, let's say that your psychic IS real. How is she doing what she's doing? Does she have some sort of special gift of seeing certain vague details? Is she connected to some sort of spirit world? And how do you know the real psychics from the frauds?

I thought you were more intelligent than this Syco!

The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes... Adolf Hitler

You're not going to try and take it away from me but then write read that? Don't bag anything you haven't experienced, and for the record, if she has steered me in the right direction, and there's a lot of destructive things that I'm not doing anymore and don't even want to do as a result of her influence, then I didn't waste my money.

She also doesn't like the term psychic because It's misleading, I wonder, if I used the term spiritual reader would you still have arked up? And what's your definition of proof?

Syco- "The Empress is the latter leg of this triad, representing the physical body and the material world. From her comes all the pleasure of the senses and the abundance of life in all its forms. She is also the mother archetype, and through her we get a first glimpse of the power of love in the Tarot." I think this is all representative of awesomly large tits, no?

Yes, I would have arked up, but I'd ask you to clarify what a 'spiritual reader' is first.

I'd like proof that they can do anything that can't be explained rationally.

There are plenty of things I don't have direct experience of which I can form informed opinions on... the structure of atoms, the vacuum of space, the fact that Siberia is generally pretty fuckin cold etc... If I say to you that I know ghosts are real because somebody came up to me in the street and told me they were one and then said they'd met my grandmother and her name was Rose then would you just accept that and think 'wow, I guess ghosts must be real!". No of course you wouldn't. Except there's not really any proof that ghosts don't exist whilst there are hundreds of years worth of proof that 'spiritual reading' as you call it is bullshit. And no small portion of that proof is provided by 'spiritual readers' themselves.

So what makes your woman different to someone like Derren Brown who has no trouble whatsoever convincing people he has mystical psychic powers? If he did his schtick on you, you'd believe he was a psychic yet he's not.

Also, I'm not suprised your lady doesn't like the term 'psychic' because people associate 'psychic' with 'bullshit' just like 'propaghanda' was associated with the Nazis so the term was changed to 'public relations'. Whereas the fact that every time I throw a ball in the air, it returns to the earth proves that there is a force we call gravity acting upon it.

And yeah, proof is something you can..y'know, prove with at least some degree of logic. For example, the fact that Nostradamus predicted a huge fire in a year ending in a 6 isn't proof that he predicted the Great Fire of London (although some would disagree, but they'd be idiots).

I know you're probably going to jump down my throat for this..but I think this whole spiritual reader deal is akin to religion. What I mean by that is we've all met a really zen like, amazing person who no matter what happens always goes back to a happy place and when you find out It's because they're heavily religious...regardless of whether god exists or not It's their belief that is protects them ya know? And there's so many other ways people obtain that whether it be spiritual - prahnic healing, reiki. hypnotherapy etc or logical - counseling and talking therapy or meditation or whatever it is..whether It's scientifically proven or you just believe it so strongly that it works...who fucken cares? That's why I think the placebo effect is so amusing. Someone can believe these pills are going to take their blood pressure down so strongly that it does and their surprise when it was just a paracetamol...how do you explain that?

Regardless of where I took this conversation haha...I'm happy in my decision so be happy for me ya pack of ****s If she is a sham...fucken good on her she's paying off her mortgage and her lies are rendering her with a fantastic client base and a lot of happy customers.

I met a person like this.

I thought she was pretty cool but then she started talking about how God talks to her all the time. And then I found out her mother has borderline personality disorder. AND then she disappeared after we graduated from high school but I found out she'd up and drove to Kentucky or Tennessee (whichever) and showed up on someone's doorstep saying God sent her.

So the point of the story is, if you truly believe in crazy shit, you are crazy. Otherwise, if you know it's a load of crock and still choose to believe it, you're just being lazy and avoiding responsibility to motivate yourself.

Fine, love. They do say ignorance is bliss and I guess right now you must be very happy. But she is playing you and youshould know it by know and if you choose to ignore that fact than whatever. Nobody's saying that you can't go and talk to someone and feel better but when you attribute mystical powers to someone, you chumpatize yourself.

I wouldn't compare psychics to religion though. You might as well say any whacky belief is akin to a religion if you're going down that road.

But using the placebo effect as an example is pretty funny because you're basically saying 'yeah, it's a load of bollocks but i believe in it so it works' which is ridiculous.

What I'm saying is if you get the end result you were after who cares how you got there?
Plus you're opinion is only valid if you see the same spiritual reader as I did and form your opinion then so..bad luck to you.

If anyone else wants to add anything about the original topic feel free

    ......No it's not.

By all means continue to give her your money for talking rubbish and making shit up. I just wouldn't want to be taken advantage of like that.

    Good luck.

Well why didn't you say? When you refer to someone as 'my psychic' that implies you've visited more than once.

Just a tip for the future though - don't believe anybody who says they have magical psychic/spiritual powers but asks you to pay them in order to hear their prophecies.

She never implied either of those things! I may be vapid at times but do you really think I would visit someone who claimed they had "magical" or "mystical" powers? Your interpretation is super messed up. The first thing she said to me was that she wasn't a psychic and prefers not to be told she has a "gift", rather she has an ability, not to read minds or predict the future but to see if a person is on a destructive path and offer an alternative one using her finely tuned intuition...she said never live life by a reading use it as a guide..she knew I was a singer before I mentioned it...she knew there had been quite a few years of marijuana and dabbling in other drugs before i mentioned it...she knew the two countries I was tossing up visiting were England and America...she knew my dad was a controlling aries and that both my grandfathers died before I got to meet them...and that I have strange circumstances involving them (both my grandfathers left pregnant girlfriends to be with my grandmothers haha sluuuttts)...

So WHO the FUCK are YOU to tell me who not to pay for their services hmmm? And if you had such an ability and enjoyed it wouldn't you turn it into a career? NO ! You'd rather not do your research and sit on your stubborn soap box and mouth off!! This chick had a five month waiting list!

If I haven't convinced you my money was well-spent then let's just agree to disagree and move on I now have more passion for my music than ever because she said I have more potential than I gave myself credit for...What's not to love?
