Ruby's Pearls of Wisdom

1. Ignore your insecurities to the best of your abilities. Everybody has them. Just be yourself and then there will be little doubt if somebody actually likes you.
2. Don't be afraid to stand up for someone in need. They will probably be grateful and it will build your character.
3. Go to more museums and read great literature. Art broadens the mind.
4. Think beyond yourself. There is a whole world out there waiting to be discovered.
5. Never be afraid to stand up for yourself when appropriate, and conversely, learn how to admit you are wrong gracefully.
6. When you have sex for the first time, be in love.
7. If you are going to have sex just for the sake of sex then learn to be a considerate lover.
8. Honesty is the best policy, but a well-timed white lie has saved many relationships.
9. Life is much much too short to let the opinions of your peers control your behavior.
10. Occasionally, set aside some time for some serious introspection. I believe it was Socrates that said "An unexamined life is not worth living".
11. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Everybody does. Otherwise, we would never learn anything.
12. Involve yourself in your community. Give something back to the society that supports you.
13. You are never too smart to learn something from somebody of lesser intelligence than you.
14. Don't be afraid to be different. A lot of the most interesting people you will meet in life would not be considered "normal" by everyday standards.
15. Life is an adventure, the road unsure. Get used to it and learn to deal with the "surprises" that come your way with as much dignity and grace as possible

Holly's Commandments

1. Attempt to genuinely enjoy everyone you meet.
2. Wish for love, brace for heartbreak, but live for the moment.
3. Lose the shoes, the tie, the cubicle. Live as simply as you can.
4. Never underestimate the power of a compliment.
5. Never underestimate the power of underarm deodorant.
6. Re-evaluate yourself every day...never be satisfied.
7. Smile. Smile every day at everyone.
8. Radiate confidence in yourself.
9. Read something every god damn day for as long as you can.
10. Reread #1 and live by it.
