Thread: Stupid coworker.

So, Im annoyed, and kind of want to just blow off some steam. Im also tipsy and would like to talk. Because I do that when tipsy.

So me and this dude, lets call him Chuckles, got promoted to 'key' at the same time. Which is basically a shift manager in the Outback Steakhouse World. Ive been a bartender for about a month and a half-ish now. And he started training at the bar last Wednesday. (you have to somewhat know the bar to be a key)

And he was training, Not really interacting with the bar guests. Just being a little obnoxious all night. Then the end of the night came and I took him to the beer/wine/liquor room and was showing him how to restock the bar after a night. Im doing my thing....unpacking boxes, showing him where shit goes. Its a small room. Almost like a closet, and things dont always fit. I was explaining this, and he goes into "chuckles must fix. Mode"

And he starts reorganizing the entire room. Im like "whoa whoa whoa. The boss has it this way for a reason. When they do the alochol count at the end of the month(in 5 days) they know where everything is. I wouldnt go moving things around!"

Chuckles says "Oh, well good for Boss, but Im going to make it all Effin Fit." Of course, he used the acutal curse word here though) So at this point im like...ok..hes obviously not listening to me, nor is he going to. So I went to Boss-man. and said "when shits all out of order when you do your beer count, dont be mad at me. Chuckles is back there moving shit around and wont listen." So Bossman goes back, Chews Chuckles out for moving shit, and leaves.

Chuckles the proceeds to B.Itch me out for "snitching on him" and "making him look bad."REALLY?! Listen to me and you wont have this issue, nerd! ugh. Anyways, he storms off while yelling "Eff this Eff that I dont need this Effing poop." and goes back to the bar, leaving me with re-orgainizing everything.

That night we are missing 75 bucks.

Chuckles isnt making money while training behind the bar. Which is the norm. Nooone gets tips while training. I mean, you get minimum wage, but whatever. Its three nights and you learn a new trade. Get over it. Whatever.

So tonight. Chuckles is training yet again. Me, and another girl are the main bartenders and Chuckles is learning the drinks. At first he is......excited., to say the least. More excited than is normal for his personality. Hes also got glossy eyes, and is sniffing and rubbing his nose constantly....yeahhhh.

I dont say anything though. Its getting late into the night and we are starting to slow down and he is asking if he can go home. I say "well perhaps you should stay and learn to close. I dont know though. Go see what Boss man says."

So he goes and asks bossman and bossman says he should stay and learn to close (just like I said). And after that it was like flipping a G.D. switch. I mean, seriosly. He was pissed. Refused to acutally work. Asking every 5 minutes if "we were done yet"

No dude, we still have bar guests. We dont leave till they do. We cant finish dishes, cant clean the sinks, cant empty the machines, etc till they leave. Just sit and chill.

Well, he goes and decides to order food and eat. Which is fine. then comes back and announces he will go smoke a cigarette. comes back. Asks if were done. I say no. Goes and smokes ANOTHER. and then stands on the other side of the bar till I finally get annoyed and just tell him to leave.

After work, me and the other bartender and my boss went to our regular bar to have a drink and talk about our reservations about haveing Chuckles behind the bar. I mean, hes got a diffinite attitude problem, dosent want to talk to guests. Dosent respect authority or even constructive suggestions. and came to work today high, And, even though I have no proof, am pretty sure he jacked the 75$ we were missing on Wednesday.

But my bossman is a new bossman (2 years only of being a bossman) and dosent know what to do or how to deal with it. I mean....I cant work with this loser. I dont trust him with the money. He dosent seem to care. And working behind the bar is a PRIVLIDGE. Its given to people who desereve to make the money. I and told my bossman all of this tonight. Bossman agreed, but I doubt any action will be taken. Ugh, its just annoying. This job isnt just my coke money. Its how I pay my bills and my tuition, and I dont want to be constatnly stressed and worried if someone is jacking bills form the register or just slakcing off behind the bar. GAH.
