You should try driving around SA for a day. Our taxi are the WORSE! They will stop dead in the middle of the road. Once i had to swerve out the way and slam on breaks cuz a fucking taxi stopped dead in a circle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They cut you off on a daily basis and jump numerous red robots! Lol, and they went on strike about a month ago cuz they sick and tired of getting fines! How about obeying the basic rules of the road instead of acting like you OWN the road.

I even had one one trying to hit me with a shambuck (big whip (my window was open) ) and then when i tried to take a photo of him, he pulled a gun out and threatened me. He thought i was in the wrong because i approached a circle and had to slow down, he clearly wasn't paying attention while driving and had to slam on breaks. Naturally at every circle you approach, you have to slow down, especially if it's a circle on a freeway!!!

I have no idea how you came to that conclusion, but you are way off the mark on both accounts.


Trust me, I live in South Africa, where there is A LOT of hijackings, smash and grab and fuckers standing on a bridge throwing rocks at cars. My dad been hijacked 3 times – two were violent – first one with a gun and second one my dad was dragged behind his car. They tried to yank him out, but his seatbelt caught him.


Most hijackings happens in your OWN driveway. You have to be so careful, luckily my place is pretty secure, but when i go vist my family or friends houses, it's not unusual for me to drive around a few times when I see someone walking slowly in the street. You never know if he has buddies hiding in the bushes, that how they caught my dad out in the second hijacking. They were hiding in the tree next to his driveway.


So no, a lil bumper to bumper traffic is childs play to us. Annoying, cuz a drive to work should take me 10minutes, but during the week, it can take me up to 45minutes and it's only 13km away from my home! And you have a lot of idiots on the road with "broken" indicators.


As for driving slow, well we have a few people that do tend to take the Sunday cruise on the road, more the older generation but most people drive according to speed limit or you get idiots who fly.


National highway is 120km/hr, freeways – 100km/hr and residential/built up areas 60km/hr. I try to stick to speed limit, although I must admit I do tend to go 10km over it. So far no fines yet, but there's so many speed traps in SA and there is quite a few that are illegal as well.


And no, we don't have dirt roads (besides out in the country), we have plenty of city traffic.

Durban central. Thank goodness i don't live there, but quite a few of my friends live near by, so when i visit them, i have to fight in crazy traffic.

Um, i think the only thing I'm guilty of is maybe going slightly over the maximum speed (which almost EVERYONE is guilty of doing). But i never go up the guys ass. I get ticked off myself if i'm doing maximum speed and some BMW car rides right up my ass. I think to myself, 'fuck you, you breaking the law, why not just drive on the pavement' but i move over to the next lane, sometimes i do take my time moving other though...
I don't get mad at people who drive too slow for my taste, i get mad at people who ride up my ass, just turn into my lane without using an indicator and of course taxi!
Ask ANY South African here, they will tell you how much they hate them. They'll make a stop street where they please and if you stuck in bumper to bumper traffic, they'll travel in the emergency lane and then try squeeze in front of the queue and if you don't allow them in, they yell at you.

and plenty of people who will fly past you, and they can see the robot ahead is orange. My ex and i would wave at them say "hi" when we reach the robots and in the lane next to them. They just ignore us. LOL.

My aunt who lives in the UK was quite shocked at how many BMW, Mercs, Audi cars on our roads. We have a lot of big fancy cars here, and those people think they own the road. I can't stand BMW drivers, they are the ones that drive up peoples ass when they doing 120km/hr in a 120km/hr zone.

taxi are too overcrowded to drive fast, but they piss people off in other ways. Everyday i read about - 4 people were killed in a minibus accident.

I'm normally a really chilled out driver, but want to kick lorry drivers in the head..... And taxi drivers.
