okay, so my socer team's standing outside today fixing to go in and there are some freshmen guys standing about 100 ft away from us. All of a sudden this guy named Kevin walks by on the sidewalk minding his own business. As he's walking past the fish about 11 of them start beatig the crap out of him. One of the guy's coaches just stands there watching. Finally he yells "What are you doing?" They're all like "We were just playing around". I know damned well they weren't. I've seen people playing around but that's not it. I'm so pissed! He was spitting blood! And then I heard all these other stories: the varsity beatingup freshmen on their birthdays, guys fight in the locker room and the coaches watch. I'm so freaking angry 'cause if Kevin complains to anyonehe's gonna get beat again, lots worse. Anyone else have stories like this or comments? Sorry 'bout the language. ticked off
I'd was going to create a very strongly constructed argument against your position; but then I got high.

Yeah, thats common. When fights break out at practice generally the coaches let the fight finish or the team break it up themselves. Ironically, teammates fighting each other has an effect to bring them closer and play with more passion, and it can light a fire under a lazy player to shape up, if a team captain beats the crap out of him. Its not necessarily a good thing, but most people know when to stop punching, so its not like the kid will be seriously hurt. The only thing I dont like is the upperclassmen beating down on freshmen, thats just lame and for pussies.

Fighting between two people almost always brings them very close together. Rarely ever do grudges stay after physical fighting, and it definitely can bring more passion into the team. The part about being beat up by the coach is total bullshit, I can't believe you think that. The kids don't like the coach to begin with, if they start fucking with them theres a huge chance they'll drop that shit ASAP.

Not a lot of fighting happens at my school, but it is always consentual and equal. There is -no- bullying here the way you guys describe it. You just cannot find anyone that will take shit like that here and there aren't any bullies around, so it never happens. But can't we just settle are fueds with arm wrestling!?

That use to happen all the time at my school, but this was before i came to it. But now if anything of the sort happens then whoever did it gets suspended or expelled. Or just in a lot of trouble.

guys she's talking about some random guy getting bashed by like 11 people, not some in-house team issue between two people.
the coach should've broken it up.
