    Japanese Rock?

Does anyone else on here listen to J-rock? I've been listening to a lot lately. Most of it's from anime I have, but there are some bands I've really taken a liking to: Maximum the Hormone, The Beat Crusaders, Aqua Timez, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, and Bump of Chicken. Anyone have other good recommendations?

The footie game Pro Evolution Soccer has always had shitloads of it on the soundtrack and what I've heard on there grates on you pretty badly after the third listen. However, I shall now listen to some tracks from the artists you recommended.....

Maximum the Hormone - Gave them 3 songs...I won't be listening to them ever again. Are they fron the 90's because they sound like they'd have fit in perfectly in 1999.
The Beat Crusaders - gave them 2 songs....same deal really although they sound more like a skate punk band obviously.
Aqua Timez - sounds to me like Japanese avril lavigne with a dude.
Asian Kung-Fu Generation - getting a bit nored of this now....
Bump of Chicken - Nah again.

Meh, not my thing. It's a bit too pop-y for my liking and some of those singers are dreadful! Maximum the Hormone are the best out of that bunch methinks.

I do however listen to a couple of Japanese bands pretty frequently. They are:-

    Mad Capsule Markets
    - such an insanely cool band. I remember going to watch them play live and the singer had everything he wanted to say written on a piece of paper because obviously he couldn't speak English. Really, REALLY brilliant live band.
YouTube - The Mad Capsule Markets - Midi Surf
YouTube - The Mad Capsule Markets - Systematic
YouTube - The mad capsule markets - Crack (live)

    Church of Misery
    - Absolutely superb band. They've got amazing grooves, really great riffs and loads of attitude. They're absolutely mindblowing live and their lead singer once kneed me in my nuts for absolutely no reason.
    YouTube - Church of Misery - I,Motherfucker ( PV )
YouTube - Church of Misery - Killfornia (Ed Kemper)
YouTube - Church of Misery - Filth Bitch Boogie ( Live )

Sorry I don't share your taste in J-Rock bu each to their own eh? And hopefully you'll dig those bands I put up for you.

    Happy trails....
The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes... Adolf Hitler

I checked out Mad Capsule Markets and Church of Misery. I didn't think they were bad, but I didn't really care much for their music, either. Sometimes to me it sounded uninspired. Out of the two I'd say I liked Mad Capsule Markets a little better, just cuz their music had a bit more punch to it. I like music like that, that makes me want to just get up and run around and stuff. But yeah, like you said, everybody has their own tastes. If it wasn't like that then, well...this world would be an incredibly boring place to live lol.
