Hi, well I new here, I thought this place look great for some advice and laughs
Anyway, Im just about to start Uni for Law and Business Management, and I'l admit I'm petrified. I know I have the grades to do it or I wouldn't have gotten in, but I've seen the ammount of people who fail out. What if I can't manage, and what if I get cofused is there people that help or are you totally on your own?
I guess I am also stressing about being one of the slowest to get everything, I mean damn some of the people I will learn with are smart, what if I just keeping slipping up barely getting by - I'm not used to it. I come from a relatively small school so if you got good grades you were always at the top of classes, but in relation to the rest of the country I don't know if I will manage to hold my own.
Well I guess the point of this is what is Uni like? Is it easy enough to make friends? Does the work start at a managable pace, or do you get thrown in at the deep end?
Well hopefully you can make head or tails out of that, I babbled a lot.
Thanks
I'm at university in the US, but I too came from a small school originally and was afraid that my success wouldn't translate to a larger, more competitive school. Turns out, it did.![]()
You should be fine as long as you stay focused and do your work. Don't let statistics bug you; you're not a statistic, you're a person. You have the power to mold your experience. And you never know; just because you were a big fish in a small pond doesn't mean that you'll suck once you're in a larger pond.
Making friends is easy as long as you're friendly and open to meeting new people in unexpected places. Don't be afraid to strike up conversations with whoever's sitting next to you in class. "Wow, he's wearing a really ugly tie today." Share a laugh and you have someone you can get lunch with, y'know?
