I have a friend who was in the navy. He was a photographer and didn't do jack shit except occasionally take pictures for what was the equivalent of a yearbook. He's 27 now and went back to college, he just graduated actually, and they paid him like $1500 a month to be there..
It's a pretty sweet deal. And he was stationed in Japan and got to eat lots of delicious sushi.

Just kidding, I dont think you should but I'm pretty anti-military as it is.

Look into it. I have a friend going into reserves right now. I think they are getting less generous signing bonuses right now than previously, but I don't know details. It seems pretty drastic to me, but it could be good, and now is the time to try it while you have nothing tying you down. You do seem like you may have the personality for it. Although you still seem more artistic than all this navy / business /health care stuff.
