    New challenge at work!

Some of you know I'm an aircraft mechanic, working for a major airline. I recently got a promotion to Lead Mechanic, which I've been seeking for quite a while.

Friday night on the way into work, I got an unexpected phone call from one of my Union buddies. He's pretty dialed into all the inner circle of the Leadership, having served on a lot of committees in his career. We worked together in DC for quite a while, and got to be good friends. So......he says "I've been talking you up to (name), and he wants you to serve on the Flight Safety Committee." <kerthunk> I actually pull over to the side of the road, this was so out of the blue!!

I've always been a member of the Ground Safety Committee for as long as I can remember, and I've aspired to be on the Flt Safety Committee, but never in my wildest dreams did I expect this to happen now! There will be a lot of paperwork to deal with, details to keep up, etc. etc., but I'll also be on the cutting edge of helping to keep my industry safe(er)!! Basically now, if there's an incident, crash, etc. involving my company, I'm on the "Go Team", which is *get your ass to the airport and on the first flight to whereever*. We'll be assisting with the investigation, with a purview towards the possible maintenance aspects. My friend spent almost a month in NYC this past winter, involved in the Hudson landing.

I'll also have some schoolin' to do soon, which is good. I love learning, always have. Anyhoo, I'm stoked about this! It sorta gives new meaning to getting up and going to work now.

stuff is just stuff. your emotional health is much more important. holding raging anger in is more harmful than your faggot-assed tv that probably deserves to get its ass beat anyway.

'Cause I'm that fool that broke the key- I'm unlockable so don't check me- I got weight on my shoulders and things on my mind- The sky is falling and I'm falling behind... No shame in my game just par for the path- I try to hone my craft because at hand's the task- But I find I'm not playing with a full deck- I'm up to my neck like Toulouse Lautrec

That's absolutely brilliant mate!!! Always nice to see good people rewarded.
The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes... Adolf Hitler

Thanks guys! I think I'm up to the challenge. Already started some online webinars, so the education aspect if nothing else will be great. Plus, this will look awesome on a resume!
