wtf is "airsoft"?
Shooting each other with BB guns?
I didnt know this was a sport... we did this back in the early mid 90's to mess around.
How do you "play"?
Does anyone play? I'm just now getting into it. For a long time I was under the impression that it didn't hurt to get hit. That was my reason for avoiding it. But now I see it as an affordable alternative to paintball that I can play anywhere with my friends. I just got this gun, and I'll have this one at the end of the month. Canada is kinda lame with the law surrounding airsoft...we're only allowed clear weapons and cannot import them at all. So I'm really limited with what I can buy.

Peter: "Oh yeah..."

2:05 AM [Greaser] and it gets your dick hard?
2:05 AM [Lothar] yeah, it's that good
Yeah basically. You have to use airsoft guns because the diameter of the plastic bb is slightly larger. Most of the weapons replicate real guns. And there's a lot more variety in gun types than paintball. Pistols, snipers, machine pistols, assault rifles, smgs, grenade launchers, etc.
As far as playing goes there's lots of different game types. Capture the flag, king of the hill, elimination, etc. There's a lot of people that are into simulating military scenarios as well. Don't know if it's considered a sport or not, I just thought it was the most appropriate category.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Lothar @ Apr 17 2008, 10:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div>It is only slightly harder to cheat in paintball. There are still cheaters who wipe the paint, and it becomes increasingly harder to tell as the day goes on and people have more paint on them. Out of my 5 times paintballing I have encountered cheaters 4 times.I don't mind it, but I enjoy paintball more.
It's harder to cheat when a guys mouth is covered in paint.[/b]
I love paintballing. And if I was rich that's probably all I'd do (if I had my own CO2 fill and field). But paintball fields are hard for me to get to, and it is literally 10 times more expensive than airsoft (not including field fees and CO2!). Me and some friends can find a good spot in the woods for airsoft, or even a park at night. And airsoft guns are bad-ass.
Both are tons of fun and have their pros and cons. It depends on your budget (and your friends' budget!), your area, and your personal preference. For me a day at a paintball field costs $100. Airsoft costs me $6-10 for a day.

Always a dispute between paintballing and airsofting.
I love airsoft, cos i love Real-Sim fighting.
I currently have a G36C, a P226 and a VSR- 10
My bro backs me up with a Sig and an M16.
Paintballing is great fun, but its way too expensive, and i like the look of the airsoft guns.
I got all my stuff before our new law in the UK came in, where you had to be a registered member of a site to buy weapons. I can still get all the gear tho.
Looky what I made...

That seems sensible.

Lothar dude, I'm a US citizen! Suppose I could end up in Guantanamo Bay, though.

Look pretty good to me, as long as the bb's aren't super heated, melted tiny plastic missiles. That would sting.
Beats those thunderflash things we have to use as grenades![]()
