Why is there this backlash against baseball? Im not talking about the contracts and the money involved in baseball that people dislike, but why do people complain that its such a boring and easy game?

Baseball has got to be THE hardest sport out there, bar none. Imagine someone throwing a ball 100 MPH!! 100! Going the speed of a Ferrari. Then, in a split second, drops. Just drops. How do they do that? Or, to throw a ball that goes straight. straight. straight. then VEER! It turns. Thats hard to do. The way pitchers can master that amazes me.

And pitching isnt the hard part. Imagine the guy who then times that narrow half a second gap in which he can swing his bat to hit that ball with such force that the ball travels 400 feet. You cant beat that.

The timing, perfection, and overall skill that baseball players is unmatched. Respect is due to these guys.

well to be honest Blue, it seems like guys like A-Rod are out standing for 3 hours and getting paid millions of dollars...Doesn't seem right to me *shrugs*
I'm not saying it doesn't take talent, but I honestly have not seen a good baseball game since game 7 of the World Series a while back.
It's like golf..not much happens but it's damned hard.

Hockey players do the same thing as pitchers, but with a stick and a puck (which makes it harder). Some guys actually shoot at 130 mph, but that is all they have going for them so they get stuck in the minors. Then hockey players tip the puck moving at 90-100 mph (bear in mind that pucks are a lot harder to see than a ball) and they tip the puck right to where they want it.

Baseball is a fun sport to play, but let's be honest, it is not very fun to watch.

Black on white or white on a mixed blur of colors?

Black on white. Plus, you have more than the time it takes to hit a key to get a puck, not the case w/ baseball.

Let's not forget that a hockey puck going at that speed, and due to all sorts of physical laws (Newton, Bernoulli) and that angle with which the stick hits the puck, the puck is just about never ON the ice. Hence the blurriness.

I'm not really arguing for either side, just a fact.
whatever fuck...
