So I need a phoney phone phone. And a computerski. And a camera. And internet would be nice too! See, this way, I can sit at home and fiddle with electronics and actually talk to people besides Frank. She's been tryin my patience lately.

I went to Comp USA today, I was looking for some cheapass digi cam. The I saw the Blackberry display. And I. Am. Infatuated.
So now I'm looking into a Blackberry or a TMobile Sidekick. The Sidekick's got a camera in it. I'm sure it's prolly shitty, but that's cool, it's not THAT important.

Anyways, do any of you know much about these lil bastards? Any advice would be much appreciated. Regarding any of this stuff. I also looked at Overstock at MP3 players. There's some sweet deals, but nothing really spectacular. I'm getting my brohan to help me with that.

YAY FOR NEW STUFF ESPECIALLY WHEN IT MEANS I GET TO JOIN YOU ALL IN THE 21ST CENTURY!!!!!!
'Cause I'm that fool that broke the key- I'm unlockable so don't check me- I got weight on my shoulders and things on my mind- The sky is falling and I'm falling behind... No shame in my game just par for the path- I try to hone my craft because at hand's the task- But I find I'm not playing with a full deck- I'm up to my neck like Toulouse Lautrec

Now I could really break your balls with that right there, but I won't.

Instead I will say good luck with that........and i hope you realize being a dick online is really really lame.

In fact lamer than being a normal nice person, like I'm sure you are....

Dont get one, There aint much point if you already have a pc.
Its only a good thing to have if you are travelling a lot.
Remember you would need to pay for its internet.

As for a digicam, get on there worth the money but dont go overboard.

And mp3 player get atleast 256mb one, and ill tell you how to lower mp3 file sizes and get more on your player than your supposed to.

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent(turn from selfishness and sin) ye, and believe the gospel.

Well I don't have a pc, which is why it'd be super swell to have access outside of work and my momma's house. I got a pretty sweet deal lined up too.
Mmm interesting proposal. I won't be getting the mp3 player for a while, and I might just get an mp3 cd player cos I have a ton of my music collection on mp3 discs. Not ideal, but works for me.

Oh and also- it seems like the Sidekick or SidekickII would be a better buy. I looked at this comparison chart and it really stacks up. Plus the screen is neato burrito. I can't wait to get this in the works.

You really don't want to be browsing on a phone, its a small screen, tiny keyboard and they charge you through the nose for the poor connection...

Get a laptop, you can get them cheapish and they are portable.

Yea but see, the beauty of the Sidekick or Blackberry is that I get a phone, imer, browser, and camera for the low low price of $60 a month. Unlimited web and imer that is. And a decent calling plan. Money.
I don't want a computer cos my apartment building is not wired for internet. Yea, don't ask.

Trust me, its bloody infurating to surf the web on a phone, its usually limited in capacity and is slow and all sorts of problems come up when you try to do anything even remotely entertaining on it (Battery dies, signal dies, browser crashes, you break your fingers trying to type in addy's, etc)

I have a Sharp TM150 and the internet and IM'ing on it have come in handy but it all kills the battery in a short period of time. Also, it's not the easiest thing to hold up multiple conversations at once on IM. Phone can't load some pages and this site, specifically, takes a long long time to load and can't always load all the content. T-Mobile also likes to be a pain and not work for periods of time.

However, if you use it while plugged into the charger, you can eliminate the battery dying quickly con.

Anyhow, that's just what I've found with my phone's web browser and wanted to lay that all out for you before you decide to get it or not.

Mmmm. Interesting. Thanks!
I don't think I'll have to worry too much about battery power. The internet stuff I want soley for use in my apt. And the rest of the time, for games and the cell.

edit- wait, so Tmobile sucks then? booo

I've never been a fan of Tmobile. Andrey has them and he hates it. And everyone's right abuot the internet thing, it's not like a computer where you just go on and shit, it's a cell phone internet and theyre slow and you gotta visit pages made specifically for cell phone internet not just any page. Or at least that's how it works on my phone, I'm not sure if it would be different for blackberry. You could always get a dial up phone and use that to connect to the internet too.. but I know you probably want a cell phone.

Well, I haven't had too much of a problem with it lately, but from time to time it just won't connect. Sometimes AIM has problems, but if you turn the phone on and back on it'll let you sign on. Also, if you can, make sure there is definitely service where you're at with T-Mobile because I've found sometimes their site says there's service in places there isn't.

Other than that, I don't have a problem with T-Mobile. I've found their plans to be a lot cheaper, and they allow you to upgrade/downgrade plans and extras if you find you don't have enough/have too many minutes, without an extra charge.
