Most of my gym mom friends are on Facebook, as well as both of the girls' teachers, so... I think it's just about who's on there that you're connected to and all. I LOVE Facebook!!!

New Facebook is shit because it looks like Twitter. Coincidence?
I have a Twitter account. I got it to dork around with on my iPod. Problem is, when I'm out doing stuff I NEVER think about updating my "online" status. So it just sits there. I think I updated my twitter like twice and forgot about it. I should probably just delete it.
I had a Myspace page forever ago - like 3.5 years ago. But I deleted it. I've never had a Facebook page, even though tons of my friends tell me I should get one. I just don't feel like being addicted to updating anything online. S-B is about the peak for me. I feel like, if there is something I want my real life friends to know about... then I'll text from my cell. I don't like using the internets for my social life.

My reason for it is people who change their status frequently are usually self-absorbed and insecure. By not updating it, I feel like I look too busy to others. <_<I just BARELY started using Facebook. I like myspace and facebook and all that, but I don't like doing anything with it. I refuse to update my "status" or ask people if they'll be my "friend." Actually, I've done that a few times. But it's pretty rare.
I'm starting to think I'm too self-conscious to do all that stuff. Like people will judge what I type. I'm weird.... Haha.[/b]
If you care what random celebrities are up to then it's great. "I just bought some noodles for lunch in Soho. They were great!" not my thing though.
If you've got some kind of problem where you feel the need to let everybody know what you're doing at any given time then sadly Twitter's great for that.
As for the news and stuff, well I listen to the radio a lot and check a few different news websites so I'm not too bothered about gettin Twitter updates on news.
No doubt I shall at some point join up but I don't see any need to whatsoever for the forseeable future. Facebook was necessary just to keep in touch with some people and that was bad enough with people wasting my time trying to send me snowballs WHATEVER THE FUCK THAT MEANS!
The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes... Adolf Hitler

Plus, why click around a load of different websites, when you can have their content in one place? As for the news and stuff, well I listen to the radio a lot and check a few different news websites so I'm not too bothered about gettin Twitter updates on news.[/b]
Because clicking different websites simply requires me to move the wrist of my right hand mere centimetres (if that!) to open my favourites. I do understand the appeal I just don't really care at the moment.
Someone I knew and worked for died recently after snowboarding off a cliff in Switzerland. The story even made the guardian and some other broadsheets - not because of the tragedy though, but because of the fact that the people he was with used Twitter to try and find him. Pretty shit that the fact that Rob died is basically secondary to the fact that someone 'tweeted' about the search as it was going on. Oh, and as a 'matter of respect' there was a respectful silence held.... which consisted of 'no tweets for one hour'. Fucksake.
Now that's not a rant against the website itself, just some of the twats who use it and get such a huge bone-on from it.

stuff is just stuff. your emotional health is much more important. holding raging anger in is more harmful than your faggot-assed tv that probably deserves to get its ass beat anyway.

I don't have a Twitter account but I like Facebook becaause I can catch up with all my friends overseas and to put pictures of my little one up for my family to see. I agree though the new FB set up is a bit weird.
