It's crazy shit. You check it out and you just have to wonder who the fuck gives a shit about what kind fo Starbucks Stephen Fry got this morning.

"Oh Stephen, you should totally try the banana latte frappa, it's amazing!" I mean what kind of tool gives a shit? Honestly.
The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying. These people know only too well how to use falsehood for the basest purposes... Adolf Hitler

I can think of worse things to read about than Stephen Fry's time kicking back in Bali man. He's doing a tour of Indonesia, and it's Stephen Boolmin' Fry.

No doubt. You could be following Gwen Stefani or something. I just don't really bone off Stephen Fry. I reckon he has huge wanker potential.

I cant imagine anyone other than stars (Lance Armstrong, Diablo Cody, etc) having that much to say, and have it be interesting. I dont think I would really care to know exactly what any of my friends are doing at any given second. "Eating a burger." "Studying for a Shakesphere test" "Polishing the pole"....really, who cares?

And I doubt anyone would care enough to know what im doing at random intervals in the day. Therefore I dont really see myself joining.

Although I read Diablo Codys a while back. It made me laugh.

I like it with Facebook because you can actually be like... "Oh... you're going to the gym today... maybe I can join you" or... giving suggestions on places to go for dress shopping, etc. I think it's awesome. I've been able to stay more in touch with friends through Facebook, especially the ones I don't see on a regular basis. "Awww... your girls' haircuts are SUPER cute!" etc. You share experiences and stuff with people you know... how can it NOT be interesting??? I dunno. Maybe I'm just an addict. HA HA HA!!!

I also hate it because while it's so stupid and vapid, it's suddenly a considered must-have for the whole planet. I resent the idea that one-liners and status updates are somehow meaningful communication and consider this a symptom of society's depressingly ever-reducing attention span. People who think this is some kind of revloution make me fear (more) for the future of civilisation.[/b]
My thoughts exactly. Wouldn't go so far as to say I hate it since I haven't looked into it that far, but over the last 2 weeks or so I'm constantly hearing tv and internet sites mentioning Twitter this and tweet that. It's overwhelming. Makes me want to stay away as I am not one for fads... I think I was the last person I know to own a cell phone.

So would I have to go find all my 200 odd friends/acquaintances and add them all over again like you do if you switch from myspace to facebook?

I like Twitter a lot, and I don't know why. At first I was thinking, "this is lame", then I started following people and found that it was actually amusing to see what they have to say. Sometimes I laugh out loud. John Mayer, for instance. I know most of you probably think he's a tool, but he's quite funny and he tweets often, like sometimes every five minutes. He also replies back to you, which is cool because like Tri said, it makes these people seem more real and down to earth.

I enjoy it, but it's not for everyone. Now that I'm off school for the Summer I have tons of extra time during the day while Nev is still in school and Tom's at work, and I can update my status right from my phone if I'm at work and I'm bored as fuck.

Can someone who uses twitter clarify for me how a twitter status is different to a facebook status, if at all?

People can update every 10 seconds without their friends thinking they're twats.

i have hardly any friends on twitter. But my friends are boring anyway, so i wouldn't particularly want to follow them. I'm too busy stalking Felicia Day. one day she will notice me and then we'll become best friends
